Hey y’all, my work has me working remotely at home (I’m new so really the only thing I can do is check and answer emails) and it gives me a lot of time to play 2k. What are some things you guys do or some different ways of playing MyCareer, MyLeague, etc. to get more life out of the game?

You could try some fictional stuff (that usually keeps me going after the halfway mark of a 2k release.)

example:

Fully Fictional Roster with 30 Non NBA Teams/Cities (my favourite)

This is essentially an NBA which you know nothing about. You dont know which players are the stars (except for the ratings obviously) and you dont know any of the team dynamics (good coaching, scouting, chemistry, locker room stuff)

Some sub-sets of this are:

Fully Fictional Roster, Regular NBA Teams, Fantasy Draft

Fully Fictional Roster, Regular NBA Teams

Same NBA Roster, but Fantasy Draft and new NBA Teams/Cities

Same NBA Roster, But Relocate Every Team

Honestly, this is one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen when it comes to 2k. I will DEFINITELY use this. Hope you don’t mind, but I made my own spreadsheet using yours as a base so I could add my own twists and turns to the NBA season. But dang, outstanding work my guy.

Nba 2k19 Fictional League CPU VS CPU 30 Team control is amazing. I only watch every 4th quarter in each regular season game. I really like the storylines and stars that develop.

Exactly what I have been doing. I watch at least the 1st half of each game. Blowouts I Sim to End. I have been using Sim World Fictional League since they have 11 draft classes to go with it on 2k19.

Pick a team you hate, then play a whole MyLeague as the opposite team in each game. Make the team you hate the worst team of all time.

Honestly, it's taken me SIX career players for them to get Luka to play even halfway like himself. There are still things about his tendencies that bother me (STILL has a "shot tendency" of 60!) but he's close. He ACTUALLY took a stepback 3 my last game. But the fact that KP still has Post takeover is irritating. It might be decent for Post Scoring MyPlayers but the CPU is worthless on the post most of the time. I'll run the play, he'll fade and brick. It's actually WITHOUT his takeover that I'll see him drop step and go up. I would MUCH rather him have the Sharp Takeover but he doesn't even have Range Extender on Bronze. The guys 7'3 so 3 feet behind the line is still looking straight at the rim. Id wager he shoots somewhere in the 30s on those shots IRL. But he rebounds much better than earlier in the year, still blocks a ton of shots but doesn't even have Rim Protector! I mean the guys hovered around 2 a game his whole career... But whatever.

My only gripes now are that Tim Hardaway has ONE shooting badge (difficult bronze) and he's shooting over .40 percent this year. No catch and shoot, quick draw no nothing.

They added badges to Maxi, Dorian Finney-Smith, Seth, and Delon. But a man who averaged 16 a game this year and 18 last year can't get no love?

I just got the starting PG spot and Luka went off last game against the Rockets. He had 40 on a good percentage. About to see if i can get HIM to win the MVP instead of myself.

One thing I like doing is simming seasons by trying to break records deliberately.

For example, in NBA 2k11 I simmed a franchise using Xavier Henry as my test subject. I jacked up his shot tendency to 100 and tried to build up a winning team where he takes most of the shots in the game.

He averaged 45ppg as a rookie, peaking as a 60/3/3 player on 58TS%. Surround him with defensive first players and playmakers, edit their shot tendencies so they don't shoot as much and you can build some very strange teams that end up winning between 60-75 games.

I think by the time he retired he had 80,000 points and was first all time in FGA, FTA, 3PA and turnovers per game. Won MVP every year for 11 straight seasons, 8 championships and 8 Finals MVP. GOAT...or beneficiary of the circumstances?

Not sim but a fun alternative universe thing to do.

If you like college basketball, you can set up a March Madness "Sweet 16" within MyLeague. There are some really good rosters on here for both PS4 and Xbox. Of course it's not the same with NBA rules but it's pretty close and still very enjoyable. Creating the different March Madness courts is fun too.

I have created a fantasy league roster with all-time team greats,sure a player can play only in 1 team.e.g. LeBron plays for Cavs. Of course I use also current players if above80. I expanded with Sonics and I took Baltimore Bullets.

As such I could only get players that didn't make best starting and bench 5 of the rest of the teams.

So I am using a team of Francis/Sprewell/Stephen Jackson/Kirilenko/Bynum

the game is great and every match is exciting

Only issue is that you have to fix contracts and every year tweak their age (all historic players at 28) so they don't progress/decline
