What badge or tactic counters 'pogo stick'

It seems like no matter what badge I have, what pump fake I get them to bite on, they are still able to go for a second block attempt before my slow initial move completes. Suggestions?

Finishing directly under the basket has been a problem since 18. My only recommendation is to kick out if you don't have it initially.

I notice sometimes when I go back up after the offensive rebound, Quick First Step triggers. Not sure when makes that happen yet, but it might help.

On a separate note, Pump Fake Maestro will help make sure the shot goes in if you do manage to get it off after faking the defender.

That's actually for those directional shots after a pump fake, not a layup after a pump fake. I assumed the same until I did some testing.

Ah ok, that's pretty much how I always do it...throw up the pump, read the defender, then RS in the direction to avoid the contact.

Up and under works with the dream shake badge.

Quite frankly the best option is to make contact and get the foul call.

However you might get those silly body blocks.

Btw if you can dribble then spin move or drop step after a pump fake can be very effective.

Sadly you might rarely get the ball in that position

I'll give that a try. It seems like repositioning may afford them more time, but it's worth a shot. Any way to semi-consistently draw fouls on an airborne defender?

Pump fake to make them jump then up and under into where they are going to land and then go for the standing lay up.

If you manage a shot changing acrobat type then odds are you will draw a foul.

Regular shot might get those body blocks that should be a foul.

Usually after 2 of these fouls they will stop spamming block or they will foul out lol.

Once they get in foul trouble they usually
Play scared and you can have your way.

Now that makes me wonder if a change shot standing layup is possible, and if it would trigger the Acrobat badge.

so i pump fake, then use the right stick towards their direction, then ? ... I'm not sure i follow what to do after that.

It looks like it is possible to manually do a change shot standing layup; so far Acrobat didn't pop up, but the way 2K is that doesn't mean it isn't working.

Re: What badge or tactic counters 'pogo stick'

I’m glad OP bought this clear problem to light. Another very clear issue being caused due to improper game balancing.

The nerfing of intimidator against jumpshots causing even HOF intimidator to register only 4%-20% contest even though you time the flick of the right stick upwards correctly in my eyes was an immoral change.. HOF Catch and Shoot has no counter. Therefore, bring the 2-3 zone, bring glass cleaning clocks, and certainly bring a 5 out offense with players who have no backbone and ENJOY sitting in the corners all game (sad face emoji).

Now even as a Finisher, a Paint Beast, and Interior Finisher, you are USELESS! As the man stated, even a CLEAN pumpfake will still be HIGHLY CONTESTED due to mashing of the jump button going up at Zion-like second jumps. These defenders never jump OUT OF POSITION. Even more Incredulous, is Zion’s second jump is so amazing because NOT EVERYONE HAS IT. When you have unbalanced badges such as ‘Pogo Stick’ Now everyone has that once rare ability, on defense, placing offensive finishers at a clear disadvantage.

I’m not done. I absolutely hate that they’ve switched archetypes from one-dimensional to all around because the slashing playmaker is a damn problem. The dunks, the dribbling, the shooting all in one... thanks 2K.

at first, I was frustrated until I wrapped my head around it—2K does NOT love us, not more than those who pout for their way on twitter. The same cats who at pre-launch hype the game’s amazing changes, then cry and demand changes publicly to suit them (mind you, these guys have the followers, the subscribers, the ‘clout’).. who speaks for the unspoken?

That's something that has bothered me for a while...thanks to badges there isn't much of an "in between" anymore. Every Glass Cleaner is Dennis Rodman, every Interior Defender is Mutombo, etc. Like people are either GOAT level talent or rookie level talent.

Then go for the lay up.

You should get a shooting foul.

You can change your shot on a standing lay up and it will trigger but you will only see the badge if you scored.

Interesting, I never thought of using Acrobat like that until now. Hopefully it works out as a counter.
