Minor League Player Options

Ok Sony, for the second year in a row player options have once again been neglected. Just another hit to us hardcore franchise players. I want to start a thread on this because I don't want it lost in the shuffle of other threads.

Real minor leaguers, even the top prospects, only have 1 option. Why is this the case? So, I'm going to call up Pache for my Braves and what happens if he stinks it up and I send him down? Welp, that's the option for the year. So next season, he has to remain on my roster or expose him to waivers, which he'll be claimed considering the A potential.

This is inexcusable! Can we franchise players please get some love and get this patched or give us the option to edit this like service time?

If not, it looks like I'm all in for fictional rosters from this point on.

I'm still upset on this too. I have guys on my team who made their MLB debut last season with ZERO options. I have to be forced to keep them or risk losing them because they can't get this right.

It just blows my mind why they think this is acceptable.

Thanks for making this and I hope they'll address it. I'd be happy with editing them myself. I'm not really why this became a problem, as I don't remember it being an issue before last year.

MLBTS18 and all prior editions weren't an issue. Just started last year, I'm assuming because they made cuts to the roster side of the game or something. Less resources, less quality.

Yeah it's weird why you can't at least edit this since you can edit contract and years.

If you create a player can you edit options?

(Edit: No it seems you cannot, just service time and MLB years)

Any chance we can get an article up about this to see if we can get some backing to promote getting this resolved? This is a franchise killer for me.

The way around this for me in the past is to have 30 team control and just have no team claim the player. But without 30 team control this is a major bug.

Please look into why the cpu shuffles rosters on April 1st. Mass prospect trades. I don't think trade slider works. I turn it to 0 and still have it.

Just tried a franchise with show 19 rosters do not have the mass trades in april. I'm guessing there is a roster issue. Using live and default rosters no matter what the slider is set to you get 20-30 prospect trades in april.


With 19 rosters I turn slider to 0 no trades. At default a couple April trades. There is def. Something wrong with roster.

Agreed.

I loaded a carryover save and didn't have the issue. Not sure why the '20 rosters are causing it, but its definitely an issue.

Could it be because of inflated potentials and such? I've heard there are many more A and B prospects. Was your test with budgets on or off?

Kind of amazed that every year there are problems that really could/should have been spotted if anyone at SDS simmed a season or two of franchise before releasing the game.
