26th man in MLB the Show 20

may have already been discussed, but I've been wondering how the Show will handle this in 20. 14 players at the Single A level? -
or is this 26th man for AAA and/or AA too? so then, maybe 12-man Single A teams?

Hopefully they rework the whole roster and coding due to it. Change trade deadline rules. 40 man rules for playoff eligibility. Will need to change call up rules.

By doing that should expand roster size even if a remains unplayable.

Wasn't the crash to XMB back in '09 the result of rosters being messed up?

I don't see this happening in 20. I think since we would then have to have less players in A ball, they would also have to code in decreases in injury totals a team can have from 15 to 14. Probably more coding than it is worth on end of generation ps4.

Maybe once the game is solely on the ps5 we might. Maybe if they do that, they can give us full A rosters and then keep max injuries at 15 and give us 15 players in rookie ball. The trade off would potentially be no carry over from former ps4 files to ps5 because of max roster capacity coding or something similar.

You dont think so? Can you imagine the uproar on here if this doesnt, this is a big change in 2020.

I dont see how they cant include this.

I may be a bit dramatic by saying it but it could be gamebreaking for me in an already lacking franchise if they can't add it. That being said, I'd really like to see it Day 1 or patched very early on.

Exatly! This was also the catalyst behind 30 team control. They couldn't fix it, so they gave us the power to.

Don't get me wrong, I hope they do. It will be a big uproar if they don't. I agree with you.

It is a big change. I just don't see them doing it at this juncture with it being the end of the PS4 generation. I think it's more coding that they won't prioritize.

The architecture is supposed to be very similiar between systems. At some point they have to invest the manpower in adding relevant rules and fixing legacy bugs.

If not this year, hasn't been past few, when will some effort be placed in the mode?

Its a catch-22 but it might take for sales to drop significantly to get that effort. the catch is if they cant afford to put in the effort now, they surely wont with less income. someone at Sony will have to step up and start being proactive rather than reactive. If not, they may find themselves in 6 or 7 years the number 2 console baseball behind RBI. I know it doesn't look like that right now but RBI is slowly building a base that the Show cant even connect with currently. Unless RBI goes belly up this is a company heading in the right direction albeit very very slowly. That's why Sony has to realise its paramount for them to secure their base. Its just my opinion but the DD crowd is fickle and that mode wont sustain their fancy forever.

My memory is short and selective, has there been any rule changes recently that the Show didn't incorporate right away? besides maybe instant replay?

They had the auto intentional walk before it even was a thing. They’ve generally been pretty good at implementing new rule changes asap.

The trade deadline was not updated last year. 40 man eligibility for playoffs has been wrong for years.

Coming to xbox so should have a big enough market.
