Rankings are resetting after a season

So I just finished year 1 in my dynasty and north Texas was ranked #14 and the new season started and all the rankings reset to how my dynasty started.

Is there something I have to do?

I'm pretty sure it gets based moreso on the talent of your team and not the prior year's ranking. You'll have to climb again. Someone probably knows more about how this works than I do.

This is normal. The rankings do not carry over to the next season. You can see about where your team will be ranked next year by going to ESPN | Championship Contenders. That function reports the current ranking of all teams in the current year's column as well as their projected starting point in the next three seasons.
