Long time NCAA/Madden console user looking to play on (new)PC and have questions

    Hello All-

    I have been around since early/mid 2000s

sorry if not right place to post this. I am looking into building a PC for the [majority] purpose of playing old Madden/NCAA games w/ Mods. So I'd like to get some recommendations on what graphics cards would fit the bill, i dont mind spending some money for good quality/graphics but at the same time I am not building a PC to play Apex Legends so I dont need the top shelf I dont think

Any help on best controllers to use on PC ,where to find mods, etc please chime in or point me to the right direction. Google is helpful but too robust, I have been to partpicker and the like but I have no idea whats a "good" gpu and whats "bad" because im completely new

Also- Why is it NOT a good idea to have a tower PC connected to a 60" TV? Are there lag/performance issuses in using a TV over a monitor?

I would prefer to play on a TV but if monitor is the better method I can adjust

    thanks guys

Footballidiot.com is your place for all things Madden PC gaming. The Madden 08 forum is pretty active. As far as older NCAA games, do you mean running emulators? I don’t think they release any on pc. If they did, I haven’t heard anything about them or mods for them. There are M08 college mods though.

I'd recommend a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080. That is what I have and since it's not the latest and greatest it's not as expensive but it'll run Madden 19 really well, nearly maxed out so I'm sure it'd run all the older games.

Don't forget to check out the upcoming Madden 19/20 mod that fully converts the game to NCAA. It's in the Madden PC forums as a sticky if you're interested. The full game isn't out yet but there's a Alabama/Clemson demo game. It's awesome.

If you are going the emulator route then CPU is much more important than GPU. I'm not sure how much talking we can do about emulators on OS, though.
