    OSFM for MLB 19

I’m posting this because I wanted some clarification on the OSFM rosters this year, is that being worked on or is that no longer a thing? Haven’t seen a post specifically saying it’s being worked on so just wanted to be clear

I think this post summarizes it - still happening but under a new (TBD) name.

How are we supposed to find out when the roster is released by checking the vault if we don’t know what they’re naming it?

Pretty simple. Follow Ridin's Twitter page or just check the vault for his PSN. OS will also have a post up on the main page when it's released as well.

Hey Showtyme - I just wanted to thank a moment to thank you for all of your contributions to The Show.
I’ve already thanked Ridin via Twitter when he got a job with OOTP. You both have made a lot of baseball fans happy.

Will this roster work from MLB 18. I dont think Im buying 19 because they didnt really add anything to franchise in MLB 19

No. Your best hope for 19 rosters in MLB 18 is that someone updates them. You would have to worry about service times not being correct as well. To do that, you would have to simulate a year in 18 then import every player to a new roster file that accrued service time in the 2018 season. Honestly I am not sure if you can import into existing players or not. Not my area of expertise.

If you don't care about service time, I am sure someone on the vault has current up to date rosters for MLB 19.

just so you also know Ridin has said on twitter it's looking more like Summer time the roosters for them to be done. so it isn't going to be like after 1 week like the last few years.

I can be busy exporting and importing players and aging them a year. but it's the players missing from the game that need service time and faces that stuff takes so much time.

Yeah I saw that. My plan is to age and progress the top 100 or so prospects and just add them into my own variation of the 19 roster for this year's game. I already have the 30 team control franchise advanced a year. Just a matter of waiting.

Also if the roosters was intentional, I love the Major League 2 reference. Lol

Well if this roster isn't going to be done until June then lets do like every other year prior and get a community spread sheet together and get the project done. Never once in the last 5-6 years has it taken 2 months to get a roster out. An excel spreadsheet with a person for each team. Just like Knight did in the past. Ridin has another job. Who wants to wait 2 months for a playable roster. Lets work as a community and get this project done

It isn’t as simple as just doing a roster spreadsheet. It never was. There is a lot of background work that happens over and above what the community contributes which is very time consuming. Yes Knight organized that end but then there were others that would help after the rosters were submitted to fix ratings, clean up faces, create missing players plus the importing of all the rosters into the game which is not a fun experience.

While I don’t want to discourage anyone from creating a roster, I want to make everyone aware that it isn’t just a create and go process.

Exactly. I was going to do the top 100-150 prospects for my personal use. I know there is a lot that goes into the whole process. Roster creation is not my area of expertise but I wanted to share what I was doing in case others were thinking of doing something similar. I am horrible with faces and can do some guessing for ratings but that's about it for me.

I applaud anyone who can put that kind of work in.

Its amazing when several people were involved and we had 20 different people working on it. It got done. Why wait until june. Plus this is the last year hes doing it. Why does it have to die out

actually before the days of carry over saves it used to take 2 months EVERY player had to be created from scratch we are lucky their is a workaround to save about 2 months of work. having said that it isn't 100% confirmed if the workaround for exporting and importing still works this year it should seeing franchise is pretty much the same.

I am happy to export and import all the players across and skip a year in age. should take me a couple of days. if I have time off work. the issue is creating players that will be missing in the game and having to create faces which I am not good at. and getting correct service time. (export the player that turned generic across but then someone has to do the face)

every year though most people on here spend time making faces for players already in the game, because they didn't have a face scan. when they should be spending that time in priority of making missing players first so we can get out that roster ASAP. so as I said happy to do a hell of a lot of exporting and importing work.

but I need help with people creating faces for missing vets. (which we won't know yet till someone has the game early)
