Scanning thru this video, due to this line in the actual article:

"Game designers Nick Livingston and Ramone Russell stopped by the office to give us a personal tour of the modes, but also dish information on many other aspects of the game, including what’s up with Franchise mode this year, show off gameplay improvements in different areas, and more."

          Franchise Mode discussion:

Calling it a "Contract Year" due to focus on contract updates...contract extensions included (can be done around trade deadline and in offseason), real-life player contract values included.

They again reiterate that March to October was borne out of Franchise Mode...they wanted to push it to the limit with curation. Franchise Mode is more of a sandbox, not set up to be super curated to the user. They said they realized they were trying to do something different and new, so they decoupled it from Franchise Mode.

Franchise Mode talk starts at 18:40 mark.

Just a couple things to note:

March to October - it does seem that there is lineup/rotation management in the mode. You can also change difficulty (Ramone misspoke in the IGN video), but you can only lower it, not raise it.

Momentum gains/losses in MtO are based on the situation of the moments you get inserted into. If it's a high leverage situation, and you succeed, you get a bigger boost in positive momentum.

Also, some on here were in fact wondering...Heidi Watney's outfit does change. She does not wear that jacket all year long, every game. :-)

Just got to this part and it got me excited as well. Not much else that hasn't been mentioned somewhere else quite yet.

I'm convinced that SDS franchise guys can't chew gum and walk, because it's always "ONE" "1" thing a year for franchise last year phases which was nothing but menus and this year it's contracts after a decade.

I'm guessing no mention of custom rosters for MTO?

I would love to see an “on the field” 1-pitch mode similar to what they have in OOTP. The quick sim they have in there now is to disconnected from the field.

The new presentation between pitches I’s outstanding.

You're able to edit lineups/rotations, edit settings and lower the difficulty after beginning.

Interesting that in the IGN video after they won the first game they jumped to game 8. In this video they lost the first game and got a new opportunity in game 4 to salvage the split. So there is some Dynamic content there.

I watched bits and pieces but with franchise stream tomorrow we will find out for sure.

Contract extensions and real contracts would be nice but will they be incorporated into franchise? We don't know.

One other thing I noticed was momentum. I oppose that because it can be overdone and distort the game - and I have suspected for some time it exists below the radar in the game. I say that based upon the streaky nature of the game both in terms of winning and losing and for individual players. I think what they showed on the screen with momentum was already in the game but not openly displayed.
