Something you could try if you can control all 30 teams is to set their Double-Team Perimeter settings to "Manual" instead of "Automatic." I don't know if that will mitigate it, but it might be worth a shot.

You should also submit the problem to 2K Support.

I had a similar issue so I would beat the double with a pass to my pg and then run a regular play and not take advantage of the scoring opportunity. It’s wack, but that was the only way around it.

The issue is here, I have LeBron James on my expansion team. He's usually having a good game going into the 4th quarter, so what happens is the AI begins to double team him every.single.time as soon as he crosses half court. This has happened in my last 3 playoff games. Unable to turn it off, I've had no choice but to take advantage of it. So in the last 3 playoff games against the Warriors, I've had miracle comebacks in the 4th quarter where we've scored 40+ points, and LeBron gets 9+ assists. JUST IN THE 4TH QUARTER. Due to these idiotic double teams.

I'm currently playing mygm on Superstar, any solutions to this problem would be highly appreciated guys. Other than this, I'm having an absolulute blast playing this game. But it is a HUGE problem. Hopefully there's something that can be done about it

This... or turn ACE off (which I wouldn't do). Not sure there's any other way unless they decide to patch this.

There are significant issues with the CPU double team logic, and it’s not relegated to the 4th quarter.

If you play as the Warriors, CPU defenders will constantly run off their man to double Steph or Durant all over the half-court. While leaving Klay or Durant/Steph, depending on who they run to double team, wide open. At time, they will also run off the PF/C, leaving them wide open under the basket.

It seems marginally improved over last year, but the logic is still out of wack. Hopefully, Scott OG can improve this in a patch, or significantly reduce the amount of CPU double teams that occurs.

Honestly, defenders should never be running off their man to double team someone unless they are in the post, or it’s off a screen, with proper help defense/rotations behind them.

There has to be a bug. No NBA team in history would double team LeBron (or anyone for that matter) when they were up huge in the 4th Q. They'd just let him get his and win the game by double digits.

The AI in general suffers from a lack of situational awareness both on offense and defense, consider these clips on back to back possessions on HOF Difficulty

Now granted i have a 65 FT, but why would you double when I've picked up my dribble with 7 seconds left on the shot clock, not to mention Butler is on 5 fouls?
I made 1 FT and then this happened

AI calls an ISO postup for Towns which is the best option with Butler having fouled out, i deny the post entry pass so Teague instead of trying to take his man off the dribble just sits there waiting for Towns to get position and ends up having to jack up an awful shot at the buzzer.

Sounds like you need to slow down on your Lebron use and spread the offense around. Get other team mates involved, scale back your use of Lebron and the double teams will not be a problem.

Isn't that like deliberately not scoring to keep the game close? Wouldn't it be better for the AI to have some semblance of situational awareness instead of having to play down to the AI?

NO. It is the A.I. picking up on your tendencies i.e. you're spaming a player to score. So the A.I. is trying to get you to do something else eventhough it is limited in what it can do, you are not. Play basketball, run some plays, run a series and don't spam a player. I also play as the Lakers, and Bron is only doubled in the post when I play because the defender is at a disadvantage.

The double teaming makes no sense this year. It makes the game incredibly frustrating.

I'm an inside center and the computer will constantly double team me from the off, even when i'm not near the paint.... and they'll leave players like Thompson and Curry open for the 3. Even if it's start or the end of the game, it's always the same. Even if you're up or down by 30, it's always the same. And another thing, the computer will always give away dumb fouls.... because they reach far too much. I've made 4 players foul out against me in the first half..... yes, first half! And I've played from pro to hall of fame difficulty and it's always the same result.

I know it's a game and all, and it shouldn't necessarily be realistic..... but major parts of the game are badly designed.

To me, I honestly think it's because they're releasing a game every year and they don't have enough time to test it out

This isn't a thing where I have 50+ points w LeBron going into the 4th. Most of these games were just normal LeBron (playoff) games w 23-26 pts going into the 4th. I guess the logic would be that my roster is pretty bad (Jordan Bell and Trae Young are the 2nd best players on my team), so thats why they double team. But the execution is just terrible.

I just played Portland with the Lakers, and I scored 18 points with LeBron in the 3rd quarter. They didn't double-team him at all though, because he sat to start the 4th and never heated up like that again, plus they were sitting on a comfortable 8-12 point lead for most of the 4th.

I also saw the AI double-team him a couple of times in the first half, before he caught fire, so there's more definitely more to their logic than a black-and-white concept of "If hot, double-team every time; otherwise, never double-team."

Perhaps the Cpu had given up

But that just one game. Other games I saw DT consistently
