AntDoggyDogg 2K19 POE's

Attached POE's screenshot at the bottom of this post. I'll be uploading an actual roster after the season starts and they fill out some missing legends which I expect to happen.

Whatsup everybody, this is sort of a tradition for me. Every year I look into myleague stats to see what areas have been improved, and every year there's something to look forward to. This year what stands out to me is that the folks at 2K did a great job predicting what the league average stats for the upcoming season would be. I study the numbers every year, I'm a nerd. Here's a breakdown.

If you've been paying attention, over the last 10 years, offensive rebounding rates have fallen off dramatically, reaching new lows every passing season. With teams punting on offensive rebounding and prioritizing transition defense instead. Last season the average team had an offensive rebounding rate of 22.3%, given the trend, another drop would be a safe prediction.

But with the recent rule change that says the shot clock will now only reset to 14 seconds, I am predicting this will cause teams to find the risk/reward of crashing the offensive glass even lower, causing an even bigger drop in league-wide offensive rebounding rates. (Personally, I'm not a fan of this rule change because I like to see variety in playing styles and right now 90% of teams feel the same way about offensive rebounds.) It is absolutely safe to assume that the average offensive rebounding rate this season will fall below 22%, maybe even lower.

Now that offensive rebounds use up less time, (going from a potential 24 second possession to 14) this will result in more possessions each game. Which means for the 4th year in a row the pace of the league will rise once again. (Side note: I know it doesn't sound like a big difference but I'm kind of worried about this, more possessions = more chances for injuries...) I adjusted my POE's to the old 24 second rules. Once they patch that in, Pace should absolutely go up. Curious to see how much it goes up by.

They seem to have minimized the effect that Patient Offense/No Preference/Average Tempo can have on a teams pace. Which led to less customization for some teams. "Shoot at will" seems to be the only tempo setting that creates a noticeable difference. But I did the best I could. Maybe if Davez or Leftos is reading this they can think about having the other settings have a slightly stronger contrast from each other.

Offensive focus left out on purpose for future editing or do you just leave everybody on neutral? I've been trying to look at game tape more to get things generally correct, but your edits look great for getting things in the right place.

They don't have an effect on gameplay, or stats. Unless they changed that this year, I didn't bother checking, I assume its the same.

Here's a breakdown of defensive leaderboards from my last simulation:
1 - Jazz
2 - Celtics
3 - Warriors
4 - 76ers
5 - Thunder
6 - Raptors
7 - Bucks
8 - Pelicans
9 - Grizzlies
10 - Mavericks

So I take it going by your numbers the devs didnt fix the sim stat issues, with PIP? It gets so frustrating that the devs wont fix these issues with the sim engine.

For the past few yrs, PIP, 2nd chance pts, and pts off turnovers have all be too low in the team stats in MyLeague. I wish I wasnt so OCD about stats, because every yr this just ruins the game for me.

I keep telling myself, this yr, Im not going to be OCD about sim stats being off, and just try to enjoy the game for what it is, because last yr I didnt even get started in MyLeague as I spent all yr trying to fix the stats that were off, along with trying to perfect my sliders, and get shooting fouls on 3pt attempts to happen.

Because for the past several yrs, I spend more time editing and playing play now games and simming seasons in ML, that Im just basically wasting 60+ dollars each yr trying to fix the dam game, rather than actually playing it,lol.

Re: AntDoggyDogg 2K19 POE's

PIP stats are still low, but slightly improved? They are around 36 which is about 8 points shy from being accurate. It's a roster issue, this can be fixed by adjusted shot tendencies league wide, decreasing mid-range and increasing inside shots. I believe its possible to do this without sacrificing the accuracy of a players shot chart, most of them are too mid-range/close heavy anyway, when they should be shooting more under the basket. So its something that can be fixed and be accurate at the same time.

Will get to that soon. I also plan on uploading rosters with advanced rotations set, as well as POE's. That will be after 2K updates their rosters with some missing veterans. Last year they did that around November so it might be a wait.
