Steal Spamming Online

Can’t wait until they patch this so all the cheeses can be penalized for this. If I turn my back to my defender on the perimeter he should not be able to reach in and steal the ball with so much consistency. Has anyone else experienced this?

yeah....i experienced this in rec center & park......you cannot throw the pass to the paint because of that spam...opponent just press "steal "steal" "steal" ....they don't ever try to play defense....so disgusting

Played a few rec games today and it's unbelievable. You can't pass the ball to a guy next to you without the other team spamming the steal button. I love everything about the defense in this game but something needs to be fixed to stop people from spamming.

Protect the ball ALWAYS. If you can’t dribble without losing it, give it to someone who has more ball control. It’s just like real life guys.

I protect the ball just like Gary Peyton, Mark Jackson and Magic Johnson did back in the day. They still spam and have success

Yeah... if you just use the trigger to protect the ball you’ll be fine. It just results in a bunch of fouls and eventually they back off.

Stop leaving the ball unprotected.

that's not about the dribble...we are talking about the passing get "steal" too easy & too unrealistic...if you can do that in real life you are god...dude...

On-ball steals:
-I haven't picked up the game yet. But all I will say is that if they actually nerf steals, then I won't be able to get a single on-ball steal. In prelude '19, more often than not when I attempt to steal it results in a foul. Note: I don't normally use the steal button but since 2k advertised the steals have been fixed, I wanted to try it out.

Passing-lane steals:
-If you can't pass the ball without it getting stolen, try using 'total control passing' or 'full receiver control.' One favor though: Please don't just dismiss this option saying that you don't want to learn a new control mechanic because you've never had to in the past and that it shouldn't that difficult to simply past the ball. Try it out before you dismiss it.

Total control passing will allow you to control your off-ball teammate to come meet the pass without it ever getting stolen. If you don't want to use total control passing, use the "screen button" as a substitute to get your player to come "meet" the pass. Third, also consider using bounce pass.


EDIT: Just to clarify, even if you have total control passing/full icon passing, you can still pass normally
