Chargers stadium situation?

anyone know what the situation is in CFM with the Chargers stadium? when do they get a new one? can you relocate them to san diego and keep the chargers name?

The situation is that they play at the StubHub Center, which right now they are sharing with the LA Galaxy of MLS.


Chargers new stadium isn't expected to be ready until 2020.

-Are your profits drastically cut as an owner because it only seats 30k?

-In 2020, does your stadium magically expand or get a generic stadium? Or do you need to build one yourself?

-Can you move the team immediately? What does the stubhub center rate like?

Be an Owner in Franchise mode, build a new stadium, that's what I did.

I tried relocating the Chargers back to San Diego but couldn't do so right away bcuz the stadium rating wasn't low enough so I simmed 10 years before I did it.

When you relocate, they are the San Diego Chargers but Coachman introduces them as the LA Chargers and they are referred to as "the home/road team" or Chargers depending on situation.

Also the graphics like in pregame etc. Says Los Angeles Chargers so kills immersion imo.

It was test franchise for me so I'm not planning on moving the Chargers unfortunately.

Yes, you can relocate them to SD. Just change the relocation settings to allow any team to relocate.

This is the way I'm doing it to get them back to San Diego for year 2 (2019 season). I control them as the owner. In the franchise settings, I change Relocation to "All users only." And then simply go to "Stadium" under the owner section and click on "Relocate." That's pretty much it to get the process going to move them back to where they belong....SD!

Answers the question of the stadium grade being low enough.

Do you even need to change it to all users only? I think by default any user can relocate, given the stadium is bad enough

I initially tried it with "Normal" (the default option I believe) for Relocation and the Relocate option was not available. So at least under "Normal," you can only relocate if the stadium rating is low enough even if you're the user/owner of the team.

Charger fan here. Ive only played 2017 to this point and it was frustrating that the choices were the same every year and Vegas wasnt an option but i did move them to LA from SD.

Thinking i will get 2019 at some point soon and wondering if its the same that they give you the choices where to move and you cant choose another from what they give? However, if you can build a new stadium in the game moving out of Stubhub at least that would work.

They still have the same city options but I think added Vegas. NFL doesn’t want more options for cities
