It's like a fad now, is it anything we can do to regulate the other important threads like make a complaint thread or something so I don't have to continue to read this crap. People need to understand this is a videogame and not real life

Re: All the constant whinning
I second this. I'm to the point where I'm going respond with "Then don't buy the game." or "Go get a PC and join a modding community”.
I'm trying to get impressions of the videos to see what people are noticing from a gameplay perspective, and I keep reading the same things over and over, or it's the "Who cares?" comment. Somebody cares, and if you don't...don't comment in that thread. -
Re: All the constant whinning
It's just how it is around here at this time. I'm very fond of saying don't buy the game. And thats not because criticism isn't warranted, it is. But if it's that big a deal to you that the game isn't perfect or that VC isn't going anywhere then save yourself the trouble. Some of these guys I'm convinced just want to complain for the hell of it.

Re: All the constant whinning
I think people have a right to complain or voice their opinions, but when you start going every thread saying the same thing over and over again that's where the line should be drawn.

When a product is leading up to release, people will analyze the breadcrumbs, for better or worse. Oftentimes, the constructive criticisms, once they hit a critical mass, can provoke change or improvements.Comment

Re: All the constant whinning
People want to be amazed. 2K was, and probably still is considered the best sports game ever. The expectations are high every year, and in general, since probably 16, 2k's games have been disappointing. I can make a list, but we all know what needs improved and not to mention the VC controversy. I buy the game because I love basketball. I don't do much online, I play with friends and do my season and I"m happy. Last few years I've been disappointed with the presentation, poor atmopshere and the lack of love for the Legends/courts/teams and retro love they gave on the old games, are gone. But I continue to have hopes year after year they will surprise me with something new and fresh. IF their focus now is just to sell VC, one of these years, I won't buy at launch anymore. But every 2K game in existence has it's perks.Comment

Re: All the constant whinning
I preety much agree; I try to keep it as objective and "real" as I can.Like it or not, VC will always be around, Career will always be interconnected with Park and Pro/AM,etc. I believe the best approach is balance; finding ways that will allow for these features for those whom want to take advantage, without too badly disadvantaging those who chose not to do so.Comment

Re: All the constant whinning
Right on. I also find there's a big difference between constructive or relevant criticism and people who play the "Who cares?" card.

If something brings you this much Angst every year, Why buy it? Holy Smokes. I guess it's age and Perspective, but man, you have some dudes in here, I'm like "why buy the game if you hate it that much" unlike football, there's other options.

Re: All the constant whinning
Iono man.
I personally think the culture of this board is weird at times.
A lot of times when there is criticism against 2K there’s always a legion of people ready to shame and marginalize people for not liking something about the game.
It’s almost like they’re triggered that people aren’t praising the game all the time or finding flaws and it seems to be strongly “encouraged” that these people tone it down or shut up altogether.
People always getting sh*t on for talking about art and lighting by a contingent that doesn’t care about visuals - In their minds nobody else should care about cosmetics and you’re somehow stupid/petty for caring.
I see this pressure being applied all of the time when I lurk the forums and it seems like the suppression of thought in sometimes not so subtle ways.
I sometimes find myself mixing it up and going to the NBA 2K subreddit - seems like more freeflow of information, more diversity of discussion, less censorship, and nobody taking shots at you constantly for being passionate about niche topics or aspects of the game.⛹🏽💀

If people want to make a thread and discuss art,or lighting,or game mechanics, or whatever for 10000 pages, they should be able to do so; just jumping in and trying to change or disparage the topic is poor form.
It can not be said enough that the world is full of individuals; what one man may not care at all about may be the most important thing there is for another man.Take a moment and put yourself in the other person's place before hitting the Post button.
If someone has a different idea or viewpoint, that's ok, as long as they make a good point in a discussive fashion, and not simply trolling.Last edited by MrWrestling3; 08-23-2018, 02:38 PM.Comment

Re: All the constant whinning
There are people who are wrong on both sides.
If it keeps going like this though, this forum is going to go the way of the dinosaurs with a bunch of bitter old heads talking to themselves and scaring off everybody who doesn’t fit into their mold of what a 2K player/fan is.⛹🏽💀
