Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?

Seems like there is none even with sliders on 100
Tried on rookie, tried on all modes
Rb just gets hit immediately after the hand off every single time and both teams always end up with no more than 50 yards rushing every single game
    What am I missing ?

I'm kind of using the approach Playmakers used to use for his slider sets. I am putting the tackle slider lower and raising the run blocking a little at a time. Right now I have hum and cpu tackle at 35 with run blocking for both at 60. It's still a challenge but the lower tackle slider allows for your running back to break a tackle or two against lesser defenders.

No issues here. Just have to be patient. CPU seems to be in the same boat, but there have been times they've really let loose. Enjoying it quite a bit.

From my impression of the beta, like someone above me said, you need to be patient and hit the holes this year.

I thought the running game was one of the positives in the beta.

Good holes from the CPU side, too.

I can't wait till next Friday.

Ive turned tackle slider back a bit and it seems to help. Also had to air it out a lot more. Thanks for the input

Running is still difficult. The holes are there but to me the backside closes waaaaaaayyyyy to fast. It's so unrealistic and my User controlled defense doesn't close near as fast as the CPU. It's so frustrating to be patient, set up blocks...but your 100 million dollar Left Tackle was beat from the jump by a low end juiced up DE.

To those struggling with the run game are you accounting for both front and hat count when you choose your play? For example, are you running an inside zone right at a 3-tech just because you have the numbers advantage to that side?

I won't be getting the game early, so I haven't played yet, but I am genuinely curious if we'll have to account for the front when choosing run plays this year.

I don't find it at all to be frustrating to be patient with holes and setting up blocks.

Isn't that what we see on NFL Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football?

I wasn't a fan at all the way the run game was before.

It's starting to grow on me. I'm slowly bringing the tackle slider up the more and more I get used to the running. But the cpu, they struggle against me if I have the tackle slider above 40. So I am keeping it in the 35-40 range for a bit. This is with the cpu run blocking being at 60, I just want to see good backs break some runs here and there.

Just lay off the sprint button until you cut or get to the line of scrimmage. You get a little speed burst when you hit the sprint button right after your cut. I think it depends on your acceleration/agility. I have been you using Denver and running decently.

You definitely have to account for the front. Madden 19 even has a tutorial for it. But like I said that backside pursuit needs to be patched. It's so unrealistic.

Lol madden doesn’t really work that way fundamentally but I get what you’re saying. Since there are no real assignments and it’s basically block the first guy you see at the snap it’s kind of just a guessing game.

I am having a tough time getting used to the extra sensitivity of player controls. Keep finding myself over using the movements and missing holes.
