When do you guys think The Golf Club 2019 will actually release?

Do you guys think this will come out the same day as Madden HOF on Aug 7?

I have done a lot of reading around the internet and cannot seem to find much on when people think this will actually release so I figured I'd just ask you guys as I know some of you may have some more information than what I can find.

Any insight, guesses as to the actual release date??

I think there will be one eventually but I think in the end it's a good thing for us that they can be flexible with the release and don't necessarily need to rush it out before it's ready to meet a date.

They definitely want to get it out sooner rather than later but the flexibility gives them a couple days here and there to get that one more thing added.

I'm putting my money on 8/21 based on absolutely nothing other than it's a Tuesday in August.


It would be nice to find out just from a perspective of when I might buy another game....I'm not going to buy say Madden on release date and this comes out a week later...I'm not going to have enough free time to play both back to back.

If the date get's pushed let's say 4 weeks after Madden then I may pick up Madden and put in some solid weeks of play.

Does this make sense ? I tend to put a game on the back burner when I move to a new one.

I would at least love to see it in the PS Store for preorder...... not having a release date stinks but I get it if they don't think they have a finished product

Hi all,

As everyone is aware, we haven’t yet announced an exact release day for The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA TOUR.

While this can be a little frustrating for some people, you can be assured that there is good reason for this. We see speculation on why this is, we see some unnecessary criticism (we called the quarter, we then called the month, and we’re still saying August, so our communication on this matter has always been accurate). Things may change but this is still what we’re tracking to today.

And while we’re in a position where we can’t yet specify the exact date for reasons only known internally – regardless of what others may think they know – these reasons are very good and very positive ones, which will benefit the game, the franchise and its fans.

It does mean the time between announcing the date to release will be short, so be sure to keep an eye on the forum and our social media channels for the information once it’s made available.

We’re excited about getting the game into the hands of the fans, there’s not long to wait now. We know the frustration is largely enthusiasm brimming over and we love the passion. I’m confident it’ll be worth the wait.

My crazy out of the blue theory is that they are negotiating with Microsoft for this to enter Gamepass like Suer Mega Baseball 2.

It does seem to be some sort of a rights negotiation.

My crazy out of the blue theory is that they are negotiating with Microsoft for this to enter Gamepass like Suer Mega Baseball 2.

It does seem to be some sort of a rights negotiation.

That would be a great way to get maximum exposure, and to get the game out there, then sell courses (and of course the game to those not on GamePass)

I think your idea of the 21st sounds the most likely to me. HB Studios has already announced that they will be on location at The Northern Trust Open (Ridgewood Country Club, in Paramus, New Jersey) the week of the 21st, showing The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA TOUR off. What better time to do that than release week?

Although, I think they would have made a bigger splash by doing it at the PGA Championship this week, especially with an officially licensed version of Bellerive CC to go along with the package.

This concerns me. With EA's history of buying out the competition or license, would anyone be shocked if this were the case? As much as I love the game, I don't know if I could support it under EA's control. Mostly because I love that they aren't tied to an annual release schedule so can focus on releasing meaningful improvements with each one.

Could be nothing and I've got absolutely nothing to base this off of. It's just when I hear sports game and rights negotiation, I flash back to the Madden situation. (and yes, I know it's the NFL's choice to be exclusive and all...)

Gamepass is owned by Microsoft. I think you're confusing it with EA Access.

Also, EA relinquished the license to the PGA in order to allow TGC to use license it. If EA wants in the golf game, they have a game and had the license if they wanted to use it.
