AO International Tennis - Settings/Sliders thread

I feel like it's time to have a thread like this. The conversation in the AO International Tennis main thread has veered off into a "Sim Sliders" discussion. Enough conversation exists on this topic now to have it's own thread.


Post your settings/sliders here, and make sure you designate what they are for. For example, Arcade or Simulation. This game can be tailored towards arcade as well with the right slider (Think Virtua Tennis), but can also be tailored to sim heads who prefer TS4 style of play.


I'll start this one off.

*Note: These are just my opinions and require further testing.


The beautiful thing about this game is that we can make it arcade or sim, so I welcome anybody to come onto this thread and post the settings/sliders that they enjoy for either.

I see that Serchenko recommends different values for Clay and Hard court ball speed and general speed. I have also seen Retro's recommendations above.

Has a definitive sweet spot been found for the different surface types for realistic rally length and surface speed?

Anyone have differing opinions?

Already posted before but my current setup is

Clay
BS = 50
SP = 50

Hard
BS = 70
SP = 50

Grass
BS = 90
SP = 50


However this is a very personal thing. Higher gamespeed than 50 for me just looks very arcadey with long rallies

The game physics itself should cater for this really, but the exaggerated difference in ball speed between surfaces at least gives an impression playing on clay is slower, grass is quicker etc

aimming sensitv 55 ( not higher than 61 than you can play to easy left rigth left right most on the line with extrem angles )
movement 80 less and i became problems when com makes Stops and i must run to the net

I have little different Gamespeeds between i think for example, on clay you can not accelerate so fast because it is slippery than on hard place where you have more grip and you can accelerate fast and the game gets little bit faster

Last night, I watched a ton of retro tennis. I watched Borg McEnroe in the 1980 Wimbledon final, I watched Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl, etc. After, I went into AOIT and messed with the game speed/ball speed.


80's recommended sliders


Grass:


Game Speed: 20
Ball Speed: 30


Clay:


Game Speed: 15
Ball Speed: 20


Hard:

Game Speed: 20
Ball Speed: 25




For reference: Take a look at the video I posted in the Screenshots/Video thread, the speed of the ball is very realistic for the time (I was basing it off of McEnroe vs Borg in 1980 mostly).

Throwing my hat in here...I will have my personal settings in here in the near future for both modern day and retro tennis.

Armor i stumbled onto your stream and... wow I was hooked. This game looks right up my alley, excited to pick this up and dive in on some settings.

The mod community on console is unbelievable to me. Am I right to assume you can download say a 90’s full tour roster and play it out?

And this game is really cool. I love tennis and like I said before I have not played a tennis game since Top Spin 4. This game totally reminds me of Top Spin (the controls are very similar) and this is a really solid simulation of tennis.

Sold. The reviews are so mixed, but it looks like the game has come a LONG way since launch.

As a huge tennis fan this looks like a no brainer for me.

Yes you can. Ive uploaded a list with if i remember the TOP 50 players from the 1992 ATP season for example

I had turned the shot locating thing off and started my career 0-4 with like 2 winners per match and 20+ unforced errors. Turning that back on has helped a ton; I switched it back on when I was one game away from losing and ended up coming back to almost win that set before I finally lost.

I thought I'd be able to pick this game up pretty easily because Top Spin came so easily to me but this **** is hard.
