I hope V-Rally does well. That was a super-fun franchise back in the day.

Plus there's room in the market for an arcadish rally title. Hell, back in the late 90s, we had Colin McRae Rally as the only sim-ish rally title, while Sega Rally, V-Rally and Rallisport Challenge were arcadish rally titles.

Now the worm has turned. We have DIRT Rally and WRC 7 as sim rally titles, with only DIRT 4 as an arcadish rally title.

Plus it's a very good sign Kylotonn is developing this game. An easy winner of the Most Improved Developer Award in the last 12 months in racing games, if not all of sports gaming. WRC 7 and Isle of Man TT are effing excellent games.

Does this mean we aren’t getting a new WRC game this year as this was a Big Ben title too?

I never played this series in the past...

However, if you're looking for an arcade-ish off-road game, Gravel really is pretty good. It's not exactly "rally," as you're mostly racing, but it has something of a rally feel at times.

Very good question. Didn't think about that. Kylotonn is the developer of both.

The WRC series uses digits, not years, to name its versions. So it's not locked into an annual release.

Hope the retail version is better than the demo because the Gravel demo was awful. Pure trash.

Just wondering if the WRC license has expired hence the switch to a generic rally game. Shame if that's the case. Hopefully someone will pick up the license & do something good with it.

So, I didn't play the demo so I can't speak to that. But I've really been enjoying the game. I'm not sure it has huge legs, or anything...but the campaign mode is fun, if a bit cheesy.
