    4K TV for Gaming

I have been wanting to upgrade my TV to a 4K. And now that I got a PS4 Pro, I need to more than ever.

What are you guys using, or what would you recommend?

I'd like to stay around $1,300 or less. And keep the size around 49-50", which I know limits me a bit.

I think I missed the boat by not getting the Sammy KS8000 last year. It sounds like that is a great gaming TV.

Right now I'm looking at the Sony X900E. It's gotten really good ratings for a mid-level 4K TV.

Here’s another website for you that will fully go into details telling you about input lag which is very huge when it comes from gaming.

What is Input Lag? Input lag is the amount of time it takes for a display to process a button input while gaming. If you value your gaming experience, you want to avoid displays that exhibit high input lag, as it makes your gameplay feel sluggish and unresponsive. Our input lag database below will help […]

Sent from my iPhone using Operation Sports

Now not all TVs are there but it’s good to know your input lag. Less than 20ms is the best tv to get.

Wait till 4k can offer 120hz refresh rates and thank me later.

Also, consider a 27" to 34" gaming monitor. If your willing to give up size, monitors are superior to TVs in every which way. Get a monitor that supports 1.07 billion colours and has input lag(not confused with refresh rate) of less than 16ms

I got the 55 inch Version of the ks8000 last November. I don't have a ps4 pro though just slim and I only have 3 4K blurays right now but ever thing looks great on it and better then my old tv did. I am not sure how the Sony tv is but Sony I think is always good for like any product they make good products.

Idk why because if he's on console the hardware is literally 10 years away of being able to push that.

I do however agree that he should go for a monitor.

There's an OLED for $1,300? Is it a 12" screen or something?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Was really hoping to hear what everyone else plays on and get first-hand opinions.

Went to Best Buy other day and I think that Sony X900E may be the way too go.

Yeah, I'm sure that'll look ridiculous.

You can get a 55 oled for the ~1500 mark. Not too far off your price range.

                          Re: 4K TV for Gaming

You don’t want the Sony. It’s got 30+ms input lag even in game mode. I was just researching all these TV’s a few weeks ago. I was going to go the bargain route with the TCL P607/605 and it’s mid teens input lag, but settled on the MU8500, which is the curved version of the MU8000 mention earlier. It has input lag in the lower 20’s. The reason I didn’t get the TCL is because it suffers from dirty screen effect which is most prevalent when watching sports or playing sports games or big panning landscape shots. I felt the gray and black uniformity on the Samsung was a good trade off for a few more milliseconds of lag.

Now, 120Hz is great for PC gaming, but 4K can’t do more than 60Hz and consoles can only push up to 60Hz depending on the game. This is likely to be the case until at least 2020 so I wouldn’t let that factor in. I actually bought mine for big screen pc gaming and 60Hz is more than satisfactory to me to get the beautiful colors and high resolution of 4K HDR.

So really, if you want something to hold you over until consoles and 4K TV’s can hit 120Hz and then upgrade, go with the TCL. It has outstanding input lag and is great bang for the buck. If you want a little better picture I’d recommend the Samsung. But don’t go with Sony 4K LED TV’s for gaming. I mean, you might not notice the input lag, but lower is better. These are 55” models I’m referencing. The footprint difference should be minimal.
