    Play Call Sheets

Is anyone here nerdy enough to have built offensive and defensive play call sheets for use in Madden?

I've seen a few online from Madden-related sites, but they're a little light for my tastes. I'm interested to know if the good folks here have come up with some useful templates.

I use to back in the day of Madden Mania. Basically I just did one like it does for game flow and go from there.

When it comes to offensive game planning, this book is a must read.

The video is great, but it's no substitute for the book.

As for defensive game planning, this is a great starting point.
I received an e-mail from a reader asking about coverage philosophy and game planning. So here goes. Our base coverage concept is a mat...

              Great materials--thanks!

I'm attaching here a PDF of a call sheet I built last year in Numbers (I'm an Apple guy) that represented a distillation of several concepts I gleaned from a basic search on offensive plans. It was fun to fill out each week and use.

I'm having trouble viewing your attachment, could you post it again? By the way, I'm on the phone app, so I don't know if that's the issue.

I just attached the PDF. I'm not sure how to embed a PDF so it's viewable. The attachment should be downloadable, but I've never accessed the site or a file on the site via iPhone.

Color me nerdy. I've used situational playcall sheets for as long as I can remember. However, while I used one in Madden 12, I didn't need to refer to it as much, since the gameplan feature worked so well.

I stuck with M17 and, while I've found a bit of a workaround regarding the ridiculously limited plays allowed per situation, I am once again having to glance at it more often. I have it written simply on Word Pad but cannot upload as attachment here. If there is a way to do this please advise as I would be happy to share it.

Thanks this looks great. One question though on filling it out, I'm not sure I understand the passing concepts at the bottom of the first sheet. What is an example of what you would insert for ABCDE? Thanks again!

Nevermind to my previous comment, I think i figured it out. Example: Concept A: Flat/Curl. Then below I list the plays from various formations.

                          My bad, just saw this.

Yes, the concepts refer to route combos that you define as part of your core offense. I like to commit to certain things as a way of defining a core offensive identity that is consistent and complementary, so that's how I use that portion of the sheet.
