Why does people said NBA 2k18's graphic is cartoonish and NBA Live 18 is photorealistic ?

2K has better 3D models while Live has better lighting and textures.

we will see retail version on 2k18 and see how it look.. how come does Live has better lighting and textures while it using IGNITE engine ? Ignite engine is very old for last gen console : ps3 and xbox 360

In my opinion, I believe it is because 2K's player models look somewhat like they are super young in age. Compared to NBA Live's models where they actually look like grown men.

lol.. i saw Isaiah Thomas, Klay Thompson, Gordon Hayward, j.r. smith and others look awful in NBA Live 18

2K always look pastel to me. Flat dry colors.

They each have their pros and cons.. obviously we all wished we could blend the two together. But that's not realistic, two different companies.

While I think LIVE looks better not in motion..2k looks way better and more fluid in motion.

LIVE did up it's have this year.. Not quite 2k level. But it's a solid start.

Live blows away 2k with stat overlays.. and overall presentation.

I have played p.c version of 2k18 today.. And it's amazing.. hoping both titles go even further next year.

While I'm not really a live guy,I love competition and happy to see two titles to choose from.

Maybe one day..Live will steal 2K players away.

That's about 2 years away at least.

Agreed 100%. If we could get 2Ks player models mixed with Lives color and lighting we'd have one awesome looking game. The arenas in Live look real. 2Ks arenas have this washed out look to me. Barely any reflection on the court.
