2k just released a dev diary vlog this morning, and announced their own demo. There hasn't been any new information posted here since the WNBA trailer, so of course there won't be as many people here as over there.

I'm sure things will liven up (no pun intended) on Friday when the demo drops.

It's like comparing land to the body of water that resides on Earth. It's that big of a margin when it comes to each community and fan base. It's been like this for years. I don't see why it's a surprise now. You will see about 100-200 people in the Live forums here over the weekend, but that will never sustain because the competition is more popular, bigger and better at what it does. There is nothing to explain really. It's more about accepting NBA Live as the little brother.

The daily ratio of Live forum viewers to 2K forum viewers is usually over 10:1 in favor of 2k. That could change with a solid demo, positive reviews, and a smooth game release.

2k's forum numbers even rival Madden's in their launch week. It's crazy.

EA has not done themselves any favors the past few years. Live cancellations, and excluding player/roster editing, especially to a forum of hardcore sportsgamers is a good way to tune people out to your product. Hopefully the game is substantially improved and people take notice.

I expect that it will liven up somewhat Friday and a few weeks after. It won't be to 2k status, but this title doesn't have the track record 2k does to garner that support. Baby steps towards relevance.

its funny how live and 2k have switched places. about 15 years ago i couldnt pay anyone to play 2k with me. now im trying to convince my 2k proam teammates to give live a try and they wont hear it lol.

ive said it in other threads - 2k is the pop culture sports game at the moment. moms, girlfriends, wives, non gamers all know what 2k is even if they play games at all.

2k needs to learn from madden, who in my opinion lost a lot of the steam they had in the 90s early 2000s because they did EXACTLY what 2k is doing currenlty. forgetting the customer who has enjoyed your game for decades to add bells/whistles that will attract the new consumer. great for the short term, however when the new pop culture game arrives youve lost your core fan base. not saying that madden is unsuccessful but any of you who are 80s babies can remeber how huge madden used to be.

It's kinda like Adidas(live) and Nike(2k). Both put out quality but more people gravitate to Nike because of the name now.
