Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries

    Hello all!

Below is a link to the 40 Man Roster spreadsheet with injuries via Google Docs. It shows all players not on the MLB roster thus far. Note I will edit it to show the full rosters when I get some time! You can save it as an Excel file if you want to do your own edits and what not.

I have also uploaded a roster file under username TSpence09 called 40-Man Rosters V2. It's the OSFM base 1.0 roster with updated 40 man rosters including 60 day DL guys. I have also made attribute edits to MLB players who are rated 40/50 and made them more respectable. Shout out big time to the OSFM crew for such a great roster set!

I play with no 30 team control, so I edit the OSFM roster to include up-to-date 40 man rosters. Then I start my franchise, sim/play spring training and let compute automation take over what happens! If you play 30 team control and want real 40 man rosters throughout your season I think you just use the 25 man original OSFM and start your franchise, sim/play ST, then start regular season. Then you edit each teams 40 man roster.

I figured with OSFM dropping tonight, that this is the least I could do to give back to the community for all of their hard work with the roster set. I hope you all get some benefit from it.

    Key:
    Yellow - 10 Day DL
    Red - 60
Blue - NOT with MLB 25 Man Roster
White - MLB 25 Man Roster (coming soon)

Bluejay, first of all thanks so much for doing this. Secondly I do have a question. How will you go about getting the guys on the DL out of single A at day 10, 30, and 60?

Awesome, this is always helpful! But I think you need to make the spreadsheet shared because when I click the link it says I need permission to view.

Thank you for doing this though!

Also, it seems you have to authorize us to view the doc.

I will manually follow the sheet and add them to the 40 man. You will need to manually edit the injuries when you start your franchise!

Question? How do minor league signings work regarding the 40 man? For example, Ryan Raburn just signed with the White Sox. Does he go to AAA and get added to the 40 man or is he not on the 40 man until they decide to call him up?

I don't think he's on the 40 man. Checked the White Sox 40 man on MLB.com and he's not their. I see no reason why it wouldn't be updated yet since Raburn signed earlier today.

Thanks so much for doing this though. It should be much easier to just look at your spreadsheet to see the players who need to be added.

Thanks! Glad to help. I will eventually add all of the 40 man roster and colour code it so light blue are not on the MLB roster, but no colour fill means healthy and on the roster

I will keep the sheet updated to the minute until OSFM drops. Then I will get on the Roster

So the more I think on doing the 30 man control, the more I am beginning to lean to going about it your way Bluejay. I like the idea of rotations and lineups being true to form on opening day, but I also feel like that is a lot to keep up with and I feel like there may be some negatives to how the season plays out. I somewhat like the randomness and possibility of allowing the computer to have full control outside of my own team. Also, I do want to keep the possibility of getting fired and the other little things that you lose in controlling all 30 teams.

My top concern is still the players on the DL list. How do you make sure they will not remain in the minors when they heal without have 30 man control?

Yea, I also like that about the randomness and for my franchise to be unique. My simple solution is to just take the guys in red (60 day DL) and add them to your 40 man before you start your franchise. If it pushes a team over 40 players, just remove a low rated/lesser guy and then when you start your franchise you can place the player on the 60 day DL and re-ad the guy you removed to the 40 man.

The guys on your 10 day DL you just make sure they are on your MLB roster when you manually injure them.

So, that sounds like a plan, but if you are not controlling all 30 how would I add these guys back to the 40 man once I begin the franchise (The lesser overall guys?) Sorry, to ask so many questions. This is my first time to use attempt to use pre-existing injuries.

No worries, ask away! Well if your 40 man is set before you start your franchise. When you injure them manually they will go to the DL. When they heal, computer should just activate them and make changes as they require.
