Re: PS2>PS3/PS4
I do. Just started playing Madden 2005 on the PS2 and I'm having a blast. There were so many more features in the game that would keep me playing. If nowadays Madden games had these features there's sadly no doubt it would mean something else had to be sacrificed/taken out for it.
I like the newer Madden games but honestly there's no "replay" factor to it. I'm not a MUT player and haven't been since Madden 11 came out. Back when online and MUT wasn't there there were a lot more features, especially for PS2. Ever since Connected Careers/Franchise mode has come out I've stopped playing it, and while the last couple Maddens have been getting better in terms of the mode itself it'll still be better if we had more control over things like creating a player on the team you're owning, the Pro Bowl, and the Combine where you can play drills with the incoming draft class.
NCAA on the PS2 was fun when I had it. The drills in Campus Legend/Dynasty were fun and sadly this kind of stuff didn't translate to the PS3. I still rock with NCAA '14 though.

Re: PS2>PS3/PS4
Vision Cone was and still is one of the best features Madden ever had. Made playing the game infinitely more realistic. Hated when my top QB got hurt and had a scrambling backup with no accuracy. Cone was so small I had to run the ball.Comment

Re: PS2>PS3/PS4
On the field I much prefer today's game. Franchise mode other than playing the game was much better more than ten years ago. I have always thought that as time went by with tech advances franchise would get more in depth but has continuously gotten dumbed down. I originally thought it was because the game needed to be able to be played on the 360 with no hard drive but it is more about a one size fits all approach by ea. With one hundred percent of market share I don't think franchise will everify be as good off the field as it was 2006 let alone the improvements it should have. I want a game like madden on the field but a game like out of the park baseball for franchise mode. I would even pay extra for it as a dlc.Comment

Okay cool, I'll have to look into that. Right now I'm currently playing Madden/NCAA 03 for my Youtube channel. I've been having loads of fun with both games. I just can't seem to find the same enjoyment from the newer games.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/OptimusCline

Re: PS2>PS3/PS4
PS4 over PS2 all day any day. Many more ratings have an impact on the game now. Progression/regression creates balance in the game. More animations, better player movement, football schemes and strategies play an importance. I could probably go on.
I'm not suggesting the latest Madden trumps every ascpect of the PS2 days but I feel it's not even close anymore.
Now PS2 vs PS3 Madden...that may be a different story.Comment

Not one of the PS4 Maddens have kept my interest because the franchise experience just isn't as good as the PS2 days.
Of course the graphics are so much better on the PS4, but that's not why I play football games. Gameplay and in depth franchise is what holds my interest.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/OptimusCline

So do you think the PS4 versions have a more in depth Franchise mode?

Now everyone plays the same offense. It's stale and repetitive. The ps4 game bores the crap out of me.Comment

Re: PS2>PS3/PS4
Personal preference I suppose. Football schemes and strategies is why I think ps2 is infinitely better. Online ps2 you would find players that would run the ball all day, players that ran short west coast passing style, players that did hurry up all game. Some styles were annoying, but it mixed it up.
