    NBA2k11 Revival Community

Just wondering if there were any other people on here, like myself, that just want to go back and re-dive into 2k11 all over again.

Since the servers aren't up or anything like that, I though we could all play on the same settings throughout the different modes, and post stories, pictures, videos of our progress.

Back then Da_Czar, and most of the community stood by All-Star/Sim to be the most fair and challenging difficulty. I thought we could just start there...MyPlayer didn't have sliders in it, but if there were some popular slider sets from back then, maybe we can employ them into Association.

MyPlayer - Starts at around a 38 ovr and must work up. Draft Combine, Summer Circuit, and D-League are all in this mode. It is possible to do horrible and get drafted really late, sit the bench, and get sent down to D-League. Pretty deep stuff.

Coach Mode -Yes, 2k11 has a real coach mode. Call plays, subs, matchups...everything...in real time. And even a nice little coach cam option to watch from the sidelines. We could have Coach Mode specific challenges inside the standard Association mode.

Association - The old standard of 2k games. Start one up, compare stats and progress, share the experiance.

Situations - In 2k11 you can set up situations and play them out. Could come up with weekly challenges re-creating moments from the NBA...and see who can check them off.

Ok, those are some of the ideas we could possibly go with in this thread/project. If anyone else is interested in doing this along with me, please leave suggestions and ideas.

So...does anyone else want to embark on a journey back in time and put some serious work back into 2k11?

      Re: NBA2k11 Revival Community

I'm going to start up a either a MyPlayer or Coach Mode/Player Lock tonight, post some pics to try and get ball rolling.

If nobody seems interested, I wont bog down the forum with it, and move it over to a Dynasty thread.

NBA2k11 is $5 for both XB360 and PS3 at Gamestop, for anyone wondering.

      Where is MKharsh at tho?

        MyPlayer Starting-Point Guidlines

        All-Star/ Simulation difficulty

Time length varies at the beginning, but you can go into settings and match the simulated time to the played time, and it will scale all the onjectives to that specific time length. Works well.

-Draft Combine games are 5 minute qtrs to replicate an hour scrimmage. 3 20 minute games, where teams switch up, and scouts and coaches get to see how you play and react with different draft hopefuls.

-After Draft, Summer Circuit games will be 10 minute qtrs, to replicate real Summer League game times.

-NBA and D-League games played at standard 12 min qtrs.

Also if the difficulty is insane out of the gates, because of all the differences in controls, was thinking of implementing Pro/Sim difficulty until the All Star Break, then it gets bumped up to All Star/Sim. Lets players get their bearings of the game and controls, while leveling up for the real deal in February.

There is no VC in 2k11, all SP (skill points), and different acomplishments yield different SP totals. So unlike modern 2ks, winning MVPs, DD and TDs, and winning championships all have SP rewards.

While limited, all gear and shoes can be instantly equipped right from start for free. As you play though, you unlock Jordans that also have attribute boosts tied to them, similar to gear perks in an RPG.

And for Association mode, here are some cool team that were in 2k11 default roster...

-OKC had KD, Westbook, and Harden.
-First year of Heat big 3, Celtic big 3 still powerful as well.
-94ovr Kobe on Lakers with Bynum and Phil Jackson
-Rookie Blake Griffin on a HORRIBLE Clippers team.
          -Melo on Nuggets
          -Dirk in prime
          -CP3 still in New Orleans
          -Yao on Rockets

          ...and more...

My favorite 2K game of all time. I think I actually still have it in my closet somewhere. I have to purchase a PS3 again soon. Few games I still want to play every so often.

2k11 was amazing for it's time. First 2k game where I actually played 82 games in 82 days

A beautiful game! It had that feel of a all-time classic when it came out as it does to this day. Good call with respect to the string.

Love me some 2K11. I've tried going back for fun one day but the dribbling is and everything is just too hard for me to get back too. It's so different compared to now and then I would have readjust again going back to 2K17. That's the hardest thing about it. I even went back to 2K16 today for fun and I could barely dribble like I used to and the moves are almost the same.

Now if the servers were still up, I think I would definitely round my crew up and run some crew of old until 2K18 releases.

I loved the community-sites, which were connected to the online-leagues. You were able to scroll through the rosters, watch the games of other league members with stats and much more. Why 2k put an end to this is beyond me. It was such a great feature.

I literally just gave it up 6 months ago. There were a group of guys that kept 2K11 alive for a long time with updated rosters but that project is dead. I loved that game but I've accepted that it's over. RIP 2K11 lol.

This is unwelcome news sir, unwelcome news indeed.

But naw, I figured this was the case with many, either their eyes cant adjust to the graphics of yesteryears or they dont even own an old console anymore.

                        So be it...Jedi.
