I notice this is the response the live twitter gives whenever someone ask about live 17.

I've seen some people speculate on twitter that it might just be a proam game next year.

Would love to hear speculation of other's because something tells me we're not getting out the ordinary.

Next year will be a full game and I don't doubt it for a second. It's pretty clear that they're keeping it under raps until the competition hypes their release. Once the other game is out I won't be surprised if some genuine news about Live is revealed

Also it seems that Live Mobile has kind of rejuvenated the EA NBA franchise, especially in a monetary sense at least

I keep saying that NBA live has to do something different than 2k and put things in their game that 2k would not risk doing. Like a Coach Mode where we Coach a team there's an untapped market for that mode or a Legends Career Mode where we take a legend like Iverson for example and start their career over in the Current Era how would Iverson fare going up against Curry, Westbrook, Chris Paul etc. They can also do something wacky out of the box thinking how about a Referee Mode where you control the Referee by making foul calls, technicals, ejecting players and coaches doesn't that sound like fun and different at the same time never been done before. Also they can bring some fun to the game how about a pregame player controlled shoot around, also a halftime shot by a fan for a cash or car prize. Also mascot halftime freestyle dunking where you go through the ring of fire and the more crazy ridiculous dunks you do the more points your rewarded they could tie this to their mobile game somehow. There's many other cool ideas I forgot to mention but if NBA live wants to make a comeback they have to be a true alternate not a bootleg knockoff of 2k.

Coach Mode where we have the ability to substitute players, call plays, motivate players and argue calls all on the fly. Get fired work as an assistant coach until other coaching opportunitys open up. Also add coach/player rivalries in coach mode like George Karl and demarcus cousins relationship is in real life. Another cool idea would be able to view and watch the game through the coaches eyes from the sidelines.

For Coach Mode your CPU gm can trade and sign players without your input (or the more successful you are the more of an open ear they may have to your suggestions). You would get demands from higher-ups to play certain players more or less. Players would demand more plays run for them or more minutes. How you deal with the GM'S/Players request can affect your standings as a coach. The only thing you have control over is line-ups and coaching strategies. Star players may get upset and drop in ratings overall if they feel they aren't being used properly. You may also have to deal with two superstars on the same team complaining about their lack of touches, playing out of position, etc.

Referee Mode where you have the ability to officiate the game from all 3 of the referees eyes. All you do is press X to change from one referee eye view to the next referee eye view. Also you have one button for whistle and your able to select the foul or violation. For fouls/violations there will be colored markers underneath player that lights up a certain color alerting you of the foul/violation. For example red =travel, blue=blocking foul you'll have a certain time limit to call the foul/violation. For plays in the paint the camera would zoom in on the action and the game would slow down at the point of contact and it will be up to your discernment if the contact was a foul or not. Your performance would be graded on how accurate you are in calling fouls/violations between the time limit. Please expand on this great idea further, instead of colors underneath player it will be a random button that pops up randomly underneath player that you have to press before time lapses. So if it says press button B for the foul you have press it before button under player disappears. Every game you recieve scores your high scores are based on how accurate you are calling fouls. Your also competing against other fictional referee crews around the league. The referee crews with high scores get to referee the playoffs and the remaining crew with the highest score get to referee the finals.

Live has to get the basics of gameplay right for the first time
Whatever they make has to resemble simulation basketball because arcade is not going to cut it. They need competent developers that know basketball and they need talent to create the game. It makes no sense for them to be this far behind and struggling after years on the Xbox 360 and now PlayStation 4 Xbox One. Just put out a damn basketball games the quality of Madden

Whatever they make has to resemble simulation basketball because arcade is not going to cut it. They need competent developers that know basketball and they need talent to create the game. It makes no sense for them to be this far behind and struggling after years on the Xbox 360 and now PlayStation 4 Xbox One. Just put out a damn basketball games the quality of Madden

But arcade is what the casual wants and we all know EA caters to the casual by dumbing down their games and simplifying it instead of pleasing the sim guys like us on OS who has been vocal for years. They never cared to listen. As brutal as it sounds I don't feel sorry for them cause they did it to themselves by trying to please the casuals.

They must be doing something right considering 2k is copying numerous live features this year and in the past. It's all up to the user in how they play. I can cheese in both games if I want. I think live has a good balance in sim vs arcade other than the physics/finishing moves in paint when driving as its too arcade.

Does live still have the Nba license for next year? I could see a pro-am only game where your player is ranked, able to team up/custom jerseys/courts and make a name for yourself.

About 260,000 copies last time I checked. They have certain things done correctly but it's the lack of depth that 2k has and the fact that people are not willing to spend the same amount of money that makes it tougher for Live
