Shorter denial windows on the ground?

Shorter denial windows on the ground?

In ulimate its too hard to deny submission when your a stand up fighter. Even when you have full stamina bar and the jiujitsu fighter has 50% of the stamina its still hard to deny because of the huge stat difference.

Stamina needs to play a bigger role imo.

If my stamina bar is full and someone goes for a submisson with low stamina the deny window needs to be larger. You guys agree?

I think they're fine. I notice I get denied a lot more if I let myself get into a pattern. If you're mixing it up a lot, using fakes, and a using strikes to get GA it's possible to hold down a guy with better stats.

If you're a boxer on his back against someone who knows what they're doing you're in a world of hurt and should be.

The only thing I think needs a change is how much stamina advantage plays a part in everything. It should give more of an advantage than it currently does.

I feel as if denial windows on the ground are just about perfect. Depends a lot on stats, but also on your GA --- while at the same time allowing for one's skill to make up for a disadvantage in stats

My only tweak: I think it's too difficult to deny rubber guard. But I also think it's too easy to ESCAPE rubber guard. So I think it should be a tad bit easier to deny rubber guard; but at same time, should be a bit harder to get OUT of rubber guard (i.e. easier for SUB RubberGuard to deny your escape)

P.S. This is all based on ONLINE fights, where there's a bit of lag --- I bet if I played offline, I would think the denial windows are a BIT too big...but online, when there's a bit of lag (or sometimes more than a bit ) ---- I definitely don't think we need to shorten denial window lol

SPOT ON!

I think the denial window on the ground is perfect and the only thing like boiler said was to maybe make it easier to hold ppl in rubber guard.

BTW do not make it as strong as UFC 1 rubber guard which was a death trap and impossible to get out if they knew how to deny everything.

I'm gonna change my title because I changed my mind and agree with you guys.

I remember the days of the beta again. It was so easy for people to spam the submissions.

And thats is my biggest problem on the ground in UT Denying submission with a stand up fighter. In ranked I can deny it easily but in UT its very hard to deny submission even if your stamina bar is full and your opponent not because of the huge stat difference.

This is so true...

The arm bar from full guard plus a few other postions are so hard deny if you have a Caf rated in the 60's or 70's and your oppenent has a Caf rated in the high 80's or if they have great stats in areas you don't.

It's a tough balance but overall I agree.

If both fighters have 100% stamina --- one with 65 ground (Boxer) the other with 85 ground (BJJ) --- the BJJ ground probably SHOULD be able to throw up submissions that are (almost) impossible to stop. The boxer shouldn't be in that position, and should be punished

BUT like you said....stamina should be a big deal....probably needs to be a bigger factor....

Maybe if BJJ is 75% stam and Boxer is 100% stam....BJJ still has a good advantage, but Boxer has a noticeable improvement in ability to deny, compared to when both were at 100% stam

If BJJ is at 25% Stam and boxer is 100% stam...should be damn near impossible for BJJ to attempt a sub, unless Boxer totally screws up.

BJJ 0% Stam = 0% chance to start a sub (or even transition)




This definitely applies to TAKEDOWNS as well --- if wrestler has 25% Stam and Boxer has 100% Stam....should be almost impossible to land a takedown, even if Wrestler has much higher stats.

Of course, if Wrestler has 100% Stam and Boxer has 50% Stam ---- AUTO TAKEDOWN

I won't list all the permutations but you know what I mean i think lol
