So what's the etiquette on how many balls are acceptable in a game. Past 2 games I've played guys who avoid the strike zone like its the plaque. And I like to swing so it's really hard and frustrating. I'm talking like 40+ balls a game.

As many as they can get away with. Seriously, gotta stop swinging. They start walking runs in, they'll stop throwing balls. -

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
I have used this strategy before. I guy kept throwing curveballs and changeups low outta the zone and I could not help myself. I set my controller down and he walked the next 3 batters on 4 pitches each. Next batter he threw fastball down the middle = Grand slam. He quit throwing in the dirt after that.Comment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
I got some hate mail last night after a game calling me out for throwing out of the strike zone. I finished the game with 15 strikeouts and 0 walks. I mean, why would I do anything differently? Meanwhile my opponent thinks it's perfectly fine bunting w/ Ichirio-Crawford-Created player back-to-back-to-back every time his lineup turns over. Whatever. Show me that you can layoff a ball in the dirt before I change my approach.Comment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
3 balls is acceptable, the 4th gets a walk. Seriously, that's baseball. If you swing at pitches you can't reach, why on earth would I throw you anything you can reach? The rules of baseball are there for a a reason, just leave a few pitches until they are forced to throw you a strike, just like real life.Comment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
Against guys like that if you can't read the pitches just take to one strike. Once he starts falling behind in the count to everyone he'll likely change his tactics.PSN: Maserati_Bryan17Comment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
I normally find that the ones who complain about balls out of the strike zone are the same ones who cheat with 99 speed 99 stealing players.
Makes me so annoyed. Learn how to read pitches. If you can't see the difference between balls and strikes that's your problemComment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
If someone doesn't give me a reason to come into the zone, why should I? A walk is as good as a single. I like playing people who throw a ton of balls. Once they come into the zone the pitches get nice and meaty.Comment

Re: How many balls are acceptable.
I am actually ok with people bunting and getting on base with guys who do it in real life, but there is a really big issue with the game and I can tell some people are very aware of this and take advantage.
The problem is that fielders react too slowly, and batters exit the batter's box way too quickly---these two things happening at once create for some extremely frustrating fielding situations. And you can sometimes tell people that take advantage because they make some really absurd base running or batting decisions that would never happen in real life. Either that or they're actually clueless.
I'm talking about when people are laying down the most perfect bunts with players who have a speed of 60 and below or do absurd squeezes because your catcher has to add an extra 2 seconds of reaction time.
Sorry to go OT slightly.... but if you keep swinging at trash I'll keep throwing it!Comment
