    NBA 2k16 PRO-AM Discussion/Advice Thread

Thread for strictly Pro-Am discussion not recruiting.

Played a couple games and it seems like outside play style is the way to go for any position

Stretching the floor/ pick and pop is almost ungaurdable

Inside Center who knows how to play his position is the most dominant force in this mode.

I recently made a 6'7 PF and he has been killing. He grabs 8-10 rebounds per game and he's an outside scorer dropping at least 3 three's per game.

Because I'm shorter at that position, I'm faster than my matchup and I force them to guard me outside the paint. I chose to be 6'7 PF instead of SF because as a PF I automatically have higher rebounding and blocking ratings.
      Lineup:
      PG) Gary Payton
      SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
      SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
      PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
      C) Hakeem Olajuwon

I just made him so I haven't unlocked all the upgrades yet. But I plan to put everything at 20 and leave playmaking at 0.

I played some 7fters and they just could not keep up with me on defense. I would run around screens and leave them in the dust for an open shot.

When I'm on defense I still defend the paint and get rebounds at a successful rate. Height doesn't matter

            Best lineup:

PG - 6'2 outside point guard
SG - 6'2 outside point guard
SF - 6'7 outside point guard or 6'2 outside point guard
            PF - 7'3 outside center
            C - 7'3 inside center

That's pretty much what the top teams run ^^^

It's very effective TBH I've played that lineup and it was one of the most boring lineups ever lol

From what i've seen being a balanced or inside guard is almost useless. Outside is a must. Also the Outside inside combo for PF-C is deadly. I'm a 7'3 Inside C with maxed everything (0 playmaking). I do my best work when matched with an outside PF who knows how to play.

Teamwork trumps all at the end of the day.

I've played with guys that I always win with because we share the ball.... and I've played with good individual players that make us lose because they don't play with the team.

My inside SG is pretty fun. I can score through almost anyone inside, even centers sometimes. Can even do some posting up on smaller players. Midrange is good. 3 point shooting is a little inconsistent, but I can hit corner shots pretty well. But I don't need it, if I'm slashing.

I created a 7'2 outside center but what build should I go with him?

Obviously outside shooting, athlete, rebounding and defense will be lvl 20.

But how do I level inside and playmaking?

Go lvl 20 playmaking or spread them between the 2 categories? I want to have break starter badge.

I just made a 6'8 inside shooting guard. His speed can get to a 75, which honestly isn't that bad considering I'll be faster than mostly every small forward and only a little slower than most other 2's.
Most people I see are making 6'5 and up PG's so their speed is only like 5 points higher.

I'm really liking how easy it is to slash. And with a 72 three point rating it's not so bad where I can't hit a 3 if I have to.
But the way I play is get to the rim at all times. So once I get some badges it's either a poster, and 1 layup or kickout to my shooters.

Defensively being 6'8 will give me the edge against smaller guards and I can make up for the lower speed by knowing how to play defense first-off..and also just having length.

Playmaking is down, but I don't get stripped even as my SF who can't dribble to save his life so I'm not worried about that.

The post fade is gonna be my best friend. I'm gonna basically play like a mix of old and young Kobe but with defense like Tony Allen lol.

I really noticed if you can get to the rim and get the bigs in trouble with fouls you can change the whole aspect of how the game's played. It'll keep them honest and make it easier to drive and kick. They'll be worried about getting fouled out.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

I would put enough into playmaking + a boost to get break starter. Don't waste to much it won't be worth it. Also you your practice boost. Those combined can add a +20 to your passing. That way you get as many upgrades as possible for your inside . At 7'2 you will still be a capable finisher around the rim

Pretty much, we had a 5 man set it in stone but one cant play anymore so now we have a rotating 5th and man do you see the difference in play.

                            "I had X points", "I only took X shots"

I cant stand playing with people who constantly bring those two quotes up.

The only problem with having a scoring role in this game is how inconsistent the game itself is.

So I'm like the leader of my team and also the guy who scores and usually checks the best scorer.

There's games I can have 40 points off 20 shots, and then there's games where I shoot 50% but I take a million shots because either they're just not falling or I'm getting no love from the refs.

That's why I play with my friends cuz I never need an excuse why I played bad they just understand that's my role lol
