Rally Sons of Notre Dame - Jrex's ND Dynasty

    Prologue:

Hello, my name is John and I would like to welcome you to my very first Dynasty Thread, Rally Sons of Notre Dame - Jrex's ND Dynasty
I am a huge Notre Dame fan originally from South Bend, now living outside Chicago. I still get back to see most ND home football games as well as other sports such as Women's Basketball and Hockey.

I am making this Dynasty to chronicle the rise of Notre Dame football under new Head Coach John Bax on NCAA 14 PS3. I say rise because although Notre Dame is a well known and prestigious team, I intend to bring them up from a 1 star program back to elite 6 star status. To do this, I will be modding the dynasty to put ND as a 1 star, lower their recruiting ratings, and replace their default roster with that of a 1 star program. I am currently working on the mod right now and will get the 1 star roster from a different dynasty a few years into the future as to not have duplicate rosters. For the recruiting ratings, I intend to keep Academics, Conf Prestige, Program Tradition, and Television Exposure at high levels to the realisim. I will lower the other ratings significantly. I will also impose Dynasty Recruiting House Rules that I will post in more detail later that will keep recruiting quite challenging.

The final piece to mention about this Dynasty is that I will be playing it on Coach Mode only. I have been playing the NCAA Football series of video games since NCAA 2002 (showing my age) and have never played coach mode before until a recent dynasty. I have really enjoyed playing Coach Mode and have found it to be more realistic than playing normal on Heisman and relying on knowing the kinks in the CPU's game. I will post more about the settings I will be using later.

As I mentioned, this is my very first Dynasty Thread so please feel free to give feedback (hopefully constructive). I work full time and am recently married, so I am not sure how frequent my posts will be. I will also be going for quality over quantity of posts.

Re: Rally Sons of Notre Dame - Jrex's ND Dynasty

Just an update on my progress of setting up my Dynasty. I have the roster file successfully modded having replaced Notre Dames default roster with that of a weak team from a different dynasty. I am in the process of testing that roster file in a test dynasty by playing a game and simming a season to ensure that no glitches occur.

Assuming no glitches, I will then work on modding the file to lower Notre Dame's Prestige down to a 1 star as well as lower many recruiting pitches. I will again test that file using a test dynasty.

If all of that testing goes smoothly then I will post my ND roster, settings I will be using, and Dynasty House Rules. Stay tuned

Ok, all modding and testing are complete. I am starting the dynasty and have already posted the settings and house rules being used.

Soon I will post the roster and this Dynasty will really start moving

John Bax Named New Notre Dame Head Coach

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Notre Dame has found its new Head Football Coach to replace the NFL bound Brian Kelly. His name is John Bax and he is a South Bend native.

Coach Bax will have his work cut out for him as the Irish have been on a steady decline over the past few seasons and now find themselves looking up at the rest of the College Football world as a 1 star program.

Coach Bax was very thankful for the opportunity to lead the Irish into what he called a new Golden Age of Notre Dame Football. The road will be tough with expectations always high in South Bend and difficult scheduling year in and year out.

The Notre Dame AD is confident that Coach Bax will be up to the task with his long history of building up programs.

Coach Bax also said that he is excited to meet the team. He plans to begin evaluating potential strengths and addressing weaknesses on the recruiting trail. His unique Multiple look on offense is said to keep defenses on their toes by changing looks from power runs to 4 and 5 wide sets throughout a game. Defensively the Irish will use a base 4-3 look, but Coach Bax is also known to use the 5-2 to confuse offenses. The Nickel package will as usual play a large role on defense with more and more teams utilizing the spread.

Certainly more to come from South Bend, please stay tuned.

Re: Rally Sons of Notre Dame - Jrex's ND Dynasty

Of course you are ok to post, and thank you for posting.

Thank you for the kind words.

Unfortunately the Dynasty File has hit a snag and I'm not sure what the problem is, so I will need to put the Dynasty on hold until I fix it. I have a few ideas on how to get around the problem, so hopefully the pause will not be for long

Notre Dame Falls at Home For Coach Bax's Debut

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Notre Dame Stadium was caught in the downpour that caused the Irish's season opener to be played in the mud. The weather played a factor in this game causing dropped passes, dropped interceptions, as well as a pair of missed field goals and a missed extra point.

Notre Dame was hoping to start the Coach Bax era off with a win, but instead are realizing just how far behind modern college football they are. Wake Forest was able to keep the Irish defense guessing all game long with their up-tempo offense and superior athleticism. Coach Bax said that the Demon Deacon's fast-paced offense troubled the Irish defense that is still learning its strengths and didn't allow Notre Dame to make the situational subs they wanted.

Offensively Notre Dame started slow going three and out on their first two series leading to a 21-0 First Quarter Wake Forest Lead. This deficit meant a change to the Irish offensive gameplan and a shift from trying to establish the run game to being forced to throw the ball. Jr(RS) Quarterback Calvin Lewis did his best and ended the game with 4 TD strikes, but his 2 Ints and numerous passes that were deflected by the Demon Deacon's secondary proved too costly for the Irish.

The Irish were already in a tough spot to get bowl eligible with a schedule no team envies, this was a must win and they came up short. Up next is a trip to "The Big House" and a first taste of the ND-Michigan rivalry for new head coach John Bax. Coach Bax said that he liked what his team did offensively and thinks that if they can run the ball more and keep the defense well rested that they could do some goo dthings this year. Michigan will certainly be a big test week two and have the Irish up against a wall and staring at a potential 0-2 start in one of the loudest enviornments in all of college football.

You know I am on board and following along closely my friend. I love the layout and setup. Looking very good. I will be messaging you soon.

Tough one to take against Wake Forest but with all the restrictions you've imposed it will definitely be an uphill battle. I am looking forward to seeing how this very unique project works out!
