    Forza 6 Racing Help

    Greetings,

I need some help getting past the first 3 race series. The highest I place is 5th. All the cars they give me to use are way too slow. I am a beginner and follow the racing line. However, on a straightaway I just get left behind because the cars are so slow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Can you change the drivatar level? Not sure if you can do it in the first series.

Thanks. I did put it down a notch and it seems to help. But then I would have to put it on the lowest level. Besides the shame, what if that doesn't help? Lol!

Seriously, is there something I am missing?

      Thanks.

There is no shame. Start at the bottom and build yourself up. Forza 5 was my first. I started at the lowest drivatar levels and as many assists. Slowly increase

[emoji17] Oh well, I guess I will have to start at the bottom. I will climb up and work myself up.[emoji57]

If you buy your car within career mode, versus the main menu garage, it should be auto tuned to the class the series is using. Make sure you cars PI is as close to the class cap as possible.

Compare speed rating to other cars. You may have car a with high handling but lower speed and excel, its a balance you have to find that fits your driving style and tracks as well. A good handling car on a track with few turns will make it harder to place high, just like a fast, poor handling car will struggle more on twisty tracks.

As a new driver you may want to favor hadling. Most tracks have more corners than long straights and cornering proper will be the biggest hurdle for a new driver. I find the ai is almosts always slower in the corners that you can still sacrafice a little on the straights.

As soon as you feel comfotable turn off assisted braking. This assist can over compensate and realy slow your cornering down.

                Re: Forza 6 Racing Help

Hi all, I own Forza 1 through 4. I have a question about 6. Are you able to just jump right in and pick and car, any track and set the number of laps and have a single player race? Or are you forced to do the career mode with certain cars, tracks, and laps?

I'm basically wondering if t's like project cars where I can set up my races the way I want them without having to unlock a bunch of stuff.

                thanks.

It has always been a curious thing why T10 does't allow you to add laps to your career races?

You can setup a quick race that allows up to 50 laps and a split screen buddy. However, this mode has very limited options so the best you can do with restrictions is by car class. Hardly able to customize a race unless you are happy with the huge assortment of cars you'll see running together under same class.

To circumvent this most players are familiar with the option to run online private lobbies alone. There you can max out ai and lap counts while controlling a load of options, incuding a dozen car restrictions with the ability to lock cars to a specific series like 'gt legends' etc. Problem is right now there is bug that you only get five ai players regardless of how many you pick.

Hey man, I am doing the same. I have already noticed a slight increase in my speed with slight adjustments that I have made. I am looking forward to moving to 5%, up from 0%, on the drivatar. Keep the aides on and peel the layers back, if you will. You will find what works and what doesn't.

Update: Thanks to the good insight from your replies, I made some slight changes and I was able to actually place 1st in a race. I turned off TCS and the braking assist. Plus, I used the VW car (don't remember the name) for the first race. It was a blast to drive. My basic strategy was to corner really well since I could not beat them on the straightaways. So, I will continue.

                      Thanks again.

Notice braking and the tyres are more important. You just have to find a way to break correctly and not overheat the tyres.

I blasted the earlier series, but when I got to the bigger cars I struggled as they are heavy, I was going round a corner but the tyres got hot and I was sliding all over.

Break early, turn in, get the car pointing out the corner and footdown :P

Hey I've been playing racing games forever, I have a ton of them. If I'm having trouble with a certain race I have no problem lowering the A.I. even if it's to the lowest level. I've had to do t a couple times in Forza 6 because of the poor handling of some cars, it's like driving on ice.

That's a big problem with this game. When the tires heat up they should grip not slide, there is no difference between hot and cold tires in the game.

I'm glad the original poster made this message. I pre-ordered this game, and while I haven't played it about a week or two due to other commitments, I am stuck on the second race of the first series for career.

I think it was two weeks ago when I replayed the Seguna (I think that's what it is, it's the night race.) and still have yet to advance in the top-three to progress in the game.

I also have the VW GTI, it's amazing how braking you start to slide all over the track if you don't brake early enough. Honestly, if you don't get within the top 5-6 within the first lap it's not going to happen and you're not going to have a chance to move forward.

Looks like I'm going to have to do the same thing as the poster and drop the drivatar difficulty. Not my first go around with racing games, but it's been a long, long time since I've played one though.... barely touched FM4....too many other games taking up time.

Based on the random threads across the board, the limited laps in career (3) and how positions #1 and #2 are so far ahead of the pack make it difficult to advance.
