Ok, so I'm trying to compile a list of features that would be great for future iterations of the game. I'm trying to stick with features, if some one want to make a list of gameplay changes or bugs that need fixed that would cool too. Maybe I will do those next

some of the ones below are my examples, other I have seen elsewhere

Small Changes

Add third jersey to HUT
Add third jersey to EASHL
Generic stadium have more scoreboard animations (no more "Clap" with every non-NHL team
variable attendance (in GM, season mode)
HUT/EASHL select goal song
Continue working on Announcers (fluidity and excitement levels)
new Stanley Cup celebrations
5 player goal celebrations


Medium Changes
Create-A-Team with custom leagues
Custom Jersey with logos
Custom Goalie masks
referee makes audible announcement after reviewed goals
More than one generic stadium (the non-NHL teams in real life play in arenas that seat between 3,000 and 19,000)
IIHF and national team licenses
All-Star game (and weekend)
custom music (songs, horns, etc)
GM/BAP suspensions

Big Changes
NBA 2K style Be a Pro (or at least a revamped Be A Pro)
Outdoor games (Stadium Series, Winter Classic, Heritage Classic, other leagues) just use a generic outdoor stadium
Owner mode, expanding on GM, but also control arena, staff, pricing, team location, etc
Real coaches in the game (HUT, GM, seen in general gameplay)
offline HUT (offline seasons is a start, but add offline card market or store, obtainable team without microtransaction)
add new leagues (KHL, ECHL, etc) or just like above create a team/league

Reminder: featues, not gameplay or bug fixes

In create a player, create someone who has been drafted with a contract length of NONE (a prospect that hasn't been signed yet).

Bring back Online Franchise mode but do it right this time have customizable season lengths and custom slider settings.
Would also like to see an Online Playoff Mode so we can set up tournaments against our friends online.
Bring back custom uniform creator for EASHL.

- player meetings, e Stamkos as a C/RW, This would increase flexibility for lines, and rosters.

- Allow us to change player position in Be A GM

I like most of the OPs suggestions. Offline HUT would be great for those that have bad connections or want to keep their HUT going beyond the next title release. I never understood why this isn't an option... obviously no marketplace here unless its a fake one. Custom sounds and music would also be nice and why not custom crowd chants like in MLB The Show?

I would love to be able to import my BaP careers into new title releases. It really can't be that hard to do. Just compile our accumulated stats and awards as 'previous seasons', carry over our skills and other info and let us keep our BaP career going. This way we may actually get to finish out a career. I would still be playing my career from NHL 09 if this was the case.

Pregame presentation should take more of a backseat to other aspects of the game. Face it, we all watch the pregame stuff a few times then just skip it to get to the action. Give us more in terms of post game content, scoreboard variety, more arenas, and the ability to edit and save replays/highlights. We could do that back in NHL 09 so why not now?

Most of all for a better immersion factor I would like to see a Hall of Fame added, a league record book, and career highlight recognition. How cool would it be to have clips of all your milestones saved to a career highlight reel? Every 50 goals, or 50 in a season, every 100 points, record breaking achievements, or even user selected moments all immortalized on film. Heck even add the pucks with the moment written on tape to a trophy case like the real pros do. I think people could really get attached to their BaP careers if we could import them from past games and these extra touches.

BeaGM
- hire/fire staff (including real life coaches) who have strengths and weaknesses
- total control of the on and off ice product, going from marketing to ticket prices and the number of peanut guys in the stands (maybe a owner mode?)
- have realistic expectations from owner, budget limit, etc.
- contract extensions during seasons
- non trade/movement clauses
- total revamp of the Trade deadline, including trade values for players with 1 year left on their contract and playing for a selling team, maybe add a bidding system to see what other teams are offering
- total revamp of the Free agents day... top free agents don't wait 7 days to sign with a team, they sign mostly on day 1
- contracts based on production and age, not solely on overall (seeing a 84 OVR rookie I developed in AHL during 3 years demanding a 5M$ contract is ridiculous)
- salary arbitration
- contract bonuses
- get rid of the 85% contract glitch
- add player/goalie fatigue
- in game goalie injuries
- bring back line chemistry (could be mixed with morale)
- multi-position player (Ie Galchenyuk is a LW/C)
- suspensions
- Hall of fame
- some retired players could become coaches and you can develop them
- draft lottery animation
- edit player ratings during BeaGM
- player demands (ice time, line change, trade, etc.)
- all new Conn Smythe and Stanley Cup presentation
- ECHL affiliates
- keeping track of your CHL rookies
- bring back hot and cold streaks

BeaPro
- realistic coach expectations (shouldn't have to win a faceoff when I'm a LW...)
- draft animations (interviews, team meetings, putting that long awaited NHL jersey for the first time)
- training sessions like MLB The Show to improve your skills
- being able to refuse to sign your entry level contract (Ie you were drafted by Buffalo but you want to be traded)
- coach/GM demands, like more playing time, getting some time off, switching position, number, asking for a trade with a team you selected
- getting more exp points when you win trophies
- interactions between players to build morale/likeability
- contract demands (if my agent tells me I'm worth about 4M$, I could ask for 4M$ and see other teams propositions)

EASHL/OTP
- post whistle penalties... getting really tired of these morons who only try to hit me during offplay. You hit me for no reason? 2 min. You face wash me hoping for a fight and I don't answer? Go to the box.
- player reputation. After every game, we should be able to rate players, so you will be able to track these little ****** who just wait at the red line to get the breakaway pass or that D who is always forechecking on PK
- being able to vote to kick out trolls

General gameplay/presentation (offline and online)
- precision movement on defense
- way better AI on defense and NZ
- stick collisions
- better goalies
- player separation
- getting thrown off faceoffs
- 5 player goal celebration
- multi-type players (Toews is a TWF/PLY)
- AHL Arenas and goal songs
- real team intros
- full player customization (name, face, equipment, goalie masks, etc.)
- create arena/arena customization
- real arena announcers
- french commentators
- fight instigation penalties
- home advantage in line changes
- skating/stance styles to differentiate players (Zubrus is very low when he skates, Stamkos leans forward)
- front of the net melees, mostly when playing a rival or during playoffs (with NZ faceoff when dmen come down in the fight like in real life)

Maybe add a referee mode? Could be really awesome, and could be added as a position to play in EASHL/OTP, like a Special Guest Referee Match in WWE games.

Large Changes

Rebuild the entire AI from scratch. The same problems exist year after year and a million tuners later not one is ever fixed.

Player seperation. Asked for by millions year after year yet ignored

Revamp the slider system to operate on a scale 1-100 since this 1-6 crap provides almost no change in gameplay.

Small Changes

Five man celebrations

New more detailed generic team goalie masks or better yet a mask editor.

Give us the option to edit player faces on players without their actual face scans since you can't even bother getting hair color and skin tone right.

Get rid of the boost cards in HUT. Tired of facing people with crappy players like Anton Lander that they have boosted to make a fool out of my Duncan Keith even if he´s starting with half a zone to go on a icing puck. Why should I even bother opening a pack or two or search the market for good players if I just can take the ****ty bronzeplayers that I got in the beginning and just boost them.

Oh, and the pokechecking...

While playing the latest game in the NHL game series it is very obvious fans will think of the features wishlist of NHL 17 game.

GM role is to get right players for a team and teach them how everyone can play together effectively for a team. http://nhl17game.com/

The trailer has showed how the entire team performance is exclusively depend on the GM and how one can considerably play the role of GM.

Being a GM in NHL 16 is not just a one man role, it is role of fully active person and it is not just all about getting the best players

Agreed with Jake19ny's post. Must have those. Here are some of mine:

- Roster share
It's obvious to everyone that EA can't put a solid roster out. Ratings are what they are and it's actually hard to find a single player from the team that has every equipment right. Even the star players which are famous for that certain equipment don't have authentic gear. For me it takes about 1,5h per team to get gear somewhat authentic. Because we can't share rosters "old gen" style anymore we definitely need Roster Share. Offline community needs roster share.

- Better player/goalie editing options
Give us option to edit basically whatever we want from the equipment or player looks. For example select different colors for certain areas of the gloves or change hair style for player. Beard was a good start though.

- Defensive Tools
NHL (in real life) is currently giving us fans the best defensive game ever. But with EA's series all they do is give more tools to offense and still market their game as authentic experience. We need more tools to defensive game, such as tie-ups (bring it back), better stick sweep, different shot blocking options, (no randomness) and double (pro evo style).

- Stanley Cup Playoffs
Continuous OT is now 3 vs 3 and SO. How awful is that? You just can't **** up Stanley Cup playoffs.
