Can somebody please explain to me why EA doesn't have a baseball series?

There's an obvious demand for a baseball sim on Xbox one. MVP baseball was well received in it's time, and baseball is getting more interest now than it has in a very long time.

Does anybody know why EA hasn't jumped on a new baseball sim yet? It seems to me that if they would make it an Xbox one exclusive that it would be guaranteed to turn a profit.

Does Sony have an exclusive license deal with MLB or something?

I believe its almost purely financial. MLB license would be expensive compared to how many players would potentially buy an MLB game from EA. I mean look at NBA.

Baseball games arent as popular lets face it.

The Show is in many eyes the king so EA would only have the xbox market and they have no base to build from (afaik) so for them it would mean making a whole new game unlike NHL and FIFA where they just add a few bits and pieces + updated roster.

Btw if I remember correctly 2k had an exclusive license for some time which prevented EA from making another MVP. Sony, etc had a thirdparty license as a manufacturer, thats why The Show could happen.

I would have to agree. The cost of getting the MLB players rights has got to be expensive.
