Players Regressing During Regular Season Too Soon?

EDIT By ChaseB: VIDEO ADDED to bottom of post

I was doing a few tests for my online CFM today, and noticed something that looks like it could be a problem. It seems that players are regressing during the regular season, as early as week 2. This can happen every week during the year to the same player, rendering him useless after one season.

To test this for yourself, go into your game prep screen during each week of the regular season. The tab on the far right will let you see the history of how you progressed your players (or how they regressed on their own).

Example - Greg Robinson - #2 overall pick in last years draft, regressing almost every week and going down to 46 pass block after one season:

    20150821_164604.jpg

It does seem to be somewhat based on performance, so you might not notice it simming with the best teams in the game, or if you play each game and go undefeated. I have honestly not figured out exactly what causes it to happen, because I've also seen Russel Wilson on a 6-2 Seahawks team lose a few points.

I'm hoping this can get added to the list of things that need to be looked at and hopefully patched. Sorry if it was already brought up somewhere else, I searched but didn't find anything.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I made a short video, although the steps are pretty basic to test for yourself.

    -Make a new franchise
    -Sim to week by week
-Check development history under game prep

It does appear that this is only happening to O-line and QBs.

I wish more testing was done before release. Hopefully this will be fixed if it is a bug or we find out the reasoning behind a decision like this if it was intentional.

This may be related to the hot streak issue that goals are responsible for. If I were you I post this in that thread as well.

How long of quarters were you playing? Maybe he wasn't getting enough playing time? Maybe progression and regression are just totally different this year. You have a bad game or 2 or even preseason you go down a bit. Like cold streak vs hot streak. But I'm more curious how many minutes per quarter you were playing.

Re: Players regressing during regular season

I simmed a season I did not play a game and I was the Giants.

Greg Robinson 73 PBK 88 RBK -49 PBK 85 RBK

                Luke Joeckel 78 85 - 71 81

                Taylor lewan 84 91 - 75 94

                Eric Fisher 80 85 - 81 87

                Jake Matthews 82 80 - 79 73

                Ereck Flowers 82 86 - 74 87

                Dbrick Fergusion 89 79 - 67 77

                Nate Solder 81 88 - 79 91

I just looked at LT and these guys only. I think it could be all the OL.

Re: Players regressing during regular season

Thanks for helping test it out Zuke. Now that you mention it, I've only really noticed this happen to players on offense. Mainly with LTs and QBs, but not as extreme for QBs. Whenever I get a chance, I will test this some more to see if this happens to players on defense.

I don't think players were meant to regress during the season at all. Definitely seems like a glitch. If anyone else decides to test this, make sure you check your players before the off-season. Players go through their normal regression during the first stage, due to missing season goals or old age.

Like another said, This could be related to drive goals also.
you should post this here http://www.operationsports.com/forum...eveloper.html?.
It also could be how we set our progression.

Maybe it is, but it would seem thats alot of regression for not meeting a drive goal that was said to not really create much real regression or xp . Has anyone tested this out with different quarter lengths ?Rookie? All - pro? All madden? All of the above. We need more testing, but this sounds horrible for CFM.
                      Yup, i said it !

I simmed another season with progression at season ends same results.

For whatever reason some LT PBK are getting murdered.

This is not good but to be honest, I prefer regression over everyone being a 90+ player. I wonder if injuries are playing a part in some of these players going down? Is the opposite true? Do players progress upwards through the season at these positions? My trial is just about up or I would check.

Has anyone posted these result to Clint or Rex via Twitter? They seemed to look into other issues quicker when linked via Twitter..or at least said they would look into it...that is what happened with in game "hot streaks"
