NBA 2k15 blacktop Sig skills question

Okay so I play blacktop a lot now, and it's starting to become more apparent that my Sig skills aren't working such as, finisher, catch and shoot and posteriezer. In about 120 games I've postered 1 person and I haven't seen another animation since. I understand that they work in nba rules but is that the only time? Because if so I wasted a lot of vc....

I have two My Career's. I have played a combined of 6 seasons between the two. On the first, I had finished maxed out, and on the second, I didn't use it. I've discovered that finisher actually makes you worst. I make more layups in the career that I didn't have finisher attached. Also, I have used catch and shoot in both files. I have had a lot of success with that skill when combining it with my "hot zone". When I shoot 3's in my hot zones, I'm currently hitting 52% of them. I hope this helps.
