Yeah so it looks like the exploring the galaxy and picking and choosing how to do it is a big thing this time. I hope the rumor about unique crew members is true.

**** yeah! This is really the only game of all the announcements that is a must buy for me.

Well, unless you count the remake (FF7).

I don't know if you guys are just being sarcastic, but this game takes place in a different galaxy, and at a minimum, hundred of years later than the first series. We're not going to see any of the old squad mates.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Well, some species can live a long time in the Mass Effect universe, some even 1,000+ years.

with that said, I doubt many if any squad mates will return. I think they are going for a completely new story.

I expect some sort of Easter egg or cameo but that's about it.

My favorite series, can't wait to start hearing more details.

The rumors I heard is this takes place after the reaper invasion. Humanity finally repairs the relays but now without the reapers interference the relays alow travel to places that were not available before.

Apparently your mission is to find planets that can be colonized and inhabited. While doing this you find species and such never before seen. Also apparently depending on which planets you go to and what decisions you make you crew can vary.

(This was all taken from a leak)

^Thats what I thought the plot was too. I would like another Mass Effect game, but I would LOVE another Mass Effect game which brought "the band" back together.

                            Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda

Glad to see a discussion about this game with not just limited, but ZERO raging about ME3. It's been 3 years...people need to get a life already!

Mass Effect is one of the few game series that makes me feel like a 12 year old when a new release happens. It's like, the culmination of an agonizing wait that felt like 1000 years.

And to be clear, this one takes place LIKELY hundreds of years in the future. So it stands to reason that a few centuries of research and development, plus rummaging through Reaper databases (whether control or destroy was your option, you have to think it was possible to recover ridiculous amounts of information given that they were BILLIONS of years old) has led to the development of tech to travel to other galaxies. I'm very hopeful that they choose to go as in depth as possible with the technology and details about the universe that they did with the trilogy. And one must remember, this is a new Bioware, really that's making this game (Casey Hudson left Bioware shortly after last year's short tease at E3) so they're having to work with what the trilogy gave them. I'm sure of course that there are some people that are still there from the trilogy, and some perhaps in important positions on the dev team. So hopefully, we get ourselves a perfect mix of what worked before and will work now, and fresh ideas to keep the series on top.

Cautiously optimistic. I do like the emphasis on exploration, as the exploration in ME and ME2 were the best parts of the game for me. I'm curious as to Candyman5's info on unique squad mates. It would add a lot of replayablity for quests, lore, interactions, romances, etc.
