Rate my Fantasy Draft (Official Thread)

I am going to call this the official thread though I am not sure but I dont see this thread yet anywhere and this is my favorite activity every year in the show. I included important information and rounds of early picks as well. Ill start and go easy on me:

    Batting order:
    1-Josh Harrison 3B (3rd round)
2-Manny Machado SS (4th round, changed position to SS, +1 ovr to 84)
    3-Mike Trout CF (1st round)
    4-Nelson R. Cruz RF (6th round)
    5-Chris V. Carter DH (8th round)
    6-Evan Gattis C (7th round, changed position to C, +2 ovr to 82)
    7-Eric Hosmer 1B (5th round)
    8-D.J. Lemahieu 2B (14th round)
    9-Juan Lagares LF (10th round)

    Bench:
    Nick Swisher (1B/LF/RF)
    Xander Bogaerts (SS/2B) (12th round)
    Jordan Pacheco (C/1B/3B)
    Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF)
    Willie Bloomquist (Life)

    Rotation:
Ace of Staff- Sonny Gray (2nd round)
    2-Tyler Skaggs (11th round)
    3-Michael Pineda (13th round)
    4-Michael Foltynewicz
    5-Ivan Nova

    Bullpen:
CP-Kelvin Herrera (9th round, changed position to CP, +1 ovr to 81)
    SU-Jeurys Familia
    RP-Aaron Crow
    RP-Carter Capps
RP- B.J. Rosenberg (fake guy, throws hard)
LRP-Alfredo Piedra (fake guy but throws hard, 60 stamina B potential)

Thoughts: Outside of Gray my staff is atrocious but ill deal, they defintely throw hard though and skaggs is a solid potential young lefty. Bullpen is shaky as well but also throw hard and herrera is electric. wish my lineup had a bit more speed and contact but I have a ton of power and this has a chnace to be the best fielding team I have ever had, gold glovers are everywhere.

Let me know if you would change the batting order and who are cheap options to upgrade out in the trade market

Also to note: I mainly spent rounds 17-25 taking young kids with A and B potential (4 top 50 prospects) to me building the farm is much important then the bench I am completely fine taking veterans late 20's early 30's like swisher and bloomquist. Id rather have a good farm

Don't know if I missed something but what team did you draft with because home ballpark makes a big difference in team building..

The bullpen and the long ball are gunna be what makes or breaks this team forsure.. I see a lot of strikeouts in the middle of the lineup but your SS, CF, and 1B defense is a major plus. If your decent at hitting in this game you should be fine. Overall a solid playoff team, wouldn't say a favorite to win it all but definitely solid. I'll post mine in a bit.

Don't you guys find fantasy drafted teams seem too good? I can stockpile top prospects in the draft and go after big name players via trade with them. I've always liked fantasy drafting but just feels like my team is almost unrealistically good.

I like both your teams that I see so far. I dont think your staff is weak on the first team.

I like your team. You had the first pick didn't you? Haha. Trout gave that away. You have a ridiculous amount of power in your lineup, and I expect one of you players to lead the league in HRs at the end of the season. I don't think your pitching staff is weak at all. Sonny Gray is a great pitcher and should be for 6-8 years for your team. In my opinion, Id draft more towards position players (like you did) and then wait on pitchers. Position players are your everyday players, while your pitchers only play once every 5 games. I don't know what other teams in your league look like, but I expect you to make the playoffs. Without seeing the other team I can't really make a great call, but I feel you could make it to the ALCS at least.

You definitely decided to build for the future! I like this team a lot. I don't necessarily think you with make the playoffs the first year, but give it 2-3 years and I expect you in the World Series. You're pretty average in every category, but I feel you could be lacking in speed. I suggest you enhance that through the draft, or by making a trade. Besides that, you'll be a great team in the future.

I like the teams you guys assembled here. Fantasy drafts are always a great alternative if you're having trouble deciding which team to run with, or, just want to spice things up for a change.

I'm thinking of doing a fantasy draft myself and including legendary players for a little added cheese.

Oh yeah, it's very easy to stockpile. I drafted a team with all A and B rated players 25 and younger, except for Chris Carter, who is 28. It was fun, but not sure if I will roll with it or not.

Round 9 is when every computer team drafts a reliever, so I draft one in round 8 ahead of them and one in 9 so I end up with two good relievers off the bat. Then do the same in round 12-13 (I think it's 12-13)
