How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?

Now that the game is available for the masses, please post your online experiences. Just curious how the servers are holding up.

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?

I don't have much interest in playing this online, but I gave it a try today because I'll probably want to switch things up again every once in a while.

I only got to play less than an inning. My first batter in the bottom of the first struck out on a ball in the dirt and everything froze for a few seconds. Then it told me I had lost connection to my opponent. Is this a glitch, or did my opponent just lose connection (I know mine was fine)?

The few batters I did get through the game was pretty smooth though! A little hiccup here and there but overall it felt a ton better than last year... definitely playable

Freezing constantly. Ive froze in 3 of my 4 games. Im currently sitting here stuck as the kid im playing against walked me with the bases loaded and now im just watching his team walk around in the field because my batter wont come up to the plate. This crap year after year is getting kind of ridiculous.

Game crashed on me in the 13th inning of the first game I've played. Before that it only froze up a few times and the lag was mostly unnoticeable.

Played two games. First one the guy may have froze. It lost connection to him after he dove in the outfield and i got an inside the park HR. So not sure if it was indeed him freezing or if he was pissed and quit. Second game i froze in the 2nd inning up 1.

It was pretty smooth aside from that. Not really any lag that was too bad.

Played a full 9 innings in about 20 minutes, only noticed a tiny amount of lag when balls were hit, but it didn't affect my ability to field them.

Best online experience I've had out of my 9 years playing this series, looking forward to playing online a lot more this season!

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?

Basically still terrible. Same old exploits that have been in every year still exist:

                    - Basestealing is pretty much automatic because of the delay between when the meter starts and when the pitch is delivered. No matter how well you hold the runner on, or pitch out they still get a massive headstart.

                    - Latency issues make timing a crap shoot at best. I get that there's going to be lag or a delay or whatever online, but for a sport that relies so heavily on timing it makes it incredibly frustrating to play.

                    - Also, what happened to giving us the ability to change options for our online challenge settings in rated matches? As it stands now, the only thing we're allowed to change is hitting and pitching difficulty, guess pitch, and quick counts. Why, oh, why are strike zones and fast play forced on and balks forced off? This is a gamekiller for me. Fast pitching is bar none the worst part of playing baseball online, and the only way to combat that in the past has been having balks on.

I enjoy the challenge of playing against other humans, but I don't know if I can take another year of this mess.

edit: Also, my game has frozen 3 times already out of a total of like 10 games.

What does that even mean? Just because youre swinging too early doesnt mean its being exploited.

They are fine, I always make sure to direct connect for this game too. I wasnt even laggy, it was probably the smoothest the online has played ever, I just keep locking up in random spots.

Sounds like leagues might be more for you. Where you can find settings/sliders to your liking.

As for me..the gameplay has been silky smooth. I'm a vet to the online experience though. There has been one disconnect for me, my friend got blue screened with 2 outs in 9th. Frustrating, but baseball is my game and this game is fabulous online this year other than a few hiccups!

I've played 2 games, both were actually pretty fun but the first one I got an error code when I was down 4-1 in the 9th. That game recorded and I got a loss. I was probably gonna lose anyways but I had a guy on and wanted to finish the game anyways.

2nd game I fell behind 3-0 tied it up then hit a GS to go ahead 7-3 the player instantly disconnected, assuming he quit I came back checked my record and apparantly the game didn't count as I'm still 0-1.

I was enjoying the game but I can't believe it's 2015 and we still haven't figured out a proper way of dealing with disconnects and quitters!

I am very curious about those doing leagues as those are controlled more by custom sliders as to the hum v hum games in said leagues because last year was brutal and my friends and I really want to do one this year anything people?
