What determines who gets what badges?

I was thinking about this last night....

Why does James Harden not have a great work ethic badge?

How does anyone at 2K know what his training routine in the offseason is or how hard he works in practice/shoot arounds? Harden is an amazing player(minus defense) - I doubt he got there/maintains his level by just sitting around with lazy work ethic.

I understand some of the badges(Alpha Dog/Beta Dog, etc)...but the work ethic one doesn't seem to add up.

Anyone else agree with this? Or have any problems with the other badges?

for james harden not having that high work ethic badge is because i think you have to play BOTH ends of the floor, and he does not play defence so why would he have that high work ethic badge?

I guess i viewed the work ethic badge as how much effort a player puts into their training and offseason.

I would think the defense related badges would be related to playing D

      Just my thought though

Then again, defense is and should be part of their training and offseason.

Having said that, there are obvious badges that are subjective which in essencemeans as per the discression of the game creators ... fortunately, we have been giving the tools to edit that for offline.

James Harden is a much improved defender this season if you pay attention to the Rockets at all. He should have High Work Ethic. Most superstars should because there's no way you become a superstar in the NBA without having a work ethic that's above average.

Legendary Work Ethic should be reserved for guys like Kobe, Lebron, Dirk, etc.
