My Park Desperately needs matchmaking

This mode would be so much more rewarding if you could get a game whenever like quick ranked games... waiting for people to fill spots is annoying i get it looks cool but they should make a quick match for my park or something.

You're going to get some guys that will disagree with you and make absolutely baseless and illogical arguments, but I completely agree. I don't even care about the specifics, it would just be so much easier if there were a matchmaking system and players could be matched quickly. It would be really awesome if I could side-step all the waiting time between getting into a spot and leaving a spot, considering both of those rudimentary tasks have been monumentally difficult in the past week.

First of all I love your name lol...

And I agree. Shakedown just put out a video yesterday talkin bout how much time on average is wasted in the park...something like 130 hours a year if you play daily.

It's hard to believe they'll do matchmaking again tho, they make too much money off people dressing up and buying shoes and signature walks to go away from it.

Park is glitchy as atm, it takes 5min to get next and then you freeze for 5 min getting off from next...so annoying

I fully agree with the OP.

It's great 2K likes change and bigger things, but sometimes change is not always needed for certain things. Matchmaking is definitely desperately needed back. Waiting, waiting, waiting and waiting some more is absolutely a pain :/ Why not just add a quick matchmaking mode for those of us who do not wish to go into the park but would like to instantly play right away with rivals, randoms or whatever ...

With a quick matchmaking mode people can still be able to dress up and everything. Just like in the old-gen quick street ball matchmaking.

This is exactly, the 100%, couldn't have said it better myself, complete and utter truth--and I hope I made my point.

I have absolutely no complaints with any aspects of the actual park/rec experience, or the game mode, or the play style, or whatever else anyone can possibly conjure up (and I mean anything, so please just know that I mean anything you say that isn't exactly related to the following is irrelevant; but I know someone will still not understand and say something sooo far away from the point). I just can't stand the lag and screen/player freezes that occur every time I try to get on a "Got Next" spot, or try to get off of one, or my squad and I try to do the same on the squad spots. I don't even want to know the amount of time my team and I have wasted just trying to get all 5 or 3 of us onto the little squad dots before the 30 seconds runs out (and let me tell you, we've gotten extremely creative in the process). It's amazing how hard it's been.. And perhaps most frustrating is that whether your team has successfully "stood" on the dots or not, if you need to step off of them (or even just one player does), then you're going to be stuck there not moving for at least a solid 2-3 minutes, sometimes worse.

Without considering the difficulty of implementing such a system (IMPORTANT, I AM SPECIFICALLY STATING THAT I AM NOT CONSIDERING THE DIFFICULTY OF MY HYPOTHETICAL OR THE ISSUES WITH ACCOMPLISHING IT), it would be really, really great if myself or my squad and I could match up quickly in a matchmaking system that paired us with either rivals, or others in our park, or just anyone trying to play now without messing around. I'm not saying "throw the current system away," I'm just saying that it would be nice if there was an option to party up and play quickly.


I already know that someone is going to try to poke holes in something I just said.. So I'll just end this by reminding everyone once again that this is just a hypothetical; it's just one man's opinion; and it's just something I think would be really great, because less waiting time is better than more waiting time. One last time: IF YOU DISAGREE, that's fine, but just remember, IF YOU'RE ARGUMENT DOES NOT PERTAIN TO THE PLAYER FREEZES/WAITING TIME SPECIFICALLY, THEN YOU AND I ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THING.



That outta be clear enough, now let's see who enjoys having everyone (remember I mentioned that this was just for those who wish to use it) sit in front of their TV with a controller in their hand and not playing more than doing the same but instead actually playing with their friends; or we'll see who needs to spend less time playing video games and more time in school because they have a dramatically low level of reading comprehension and reasoning.

I think the lag/framerate issues or whatever is happening has to do with rivals.

So right after Christmas on Xbox once the servers got back up my squad was playing park and even when the got next spots were glitchy the gameplay itself was perfectly fine.
A couple days ago everything was working top notch, got next included.
So we were playing all night into the rival day, and once it started and a bunch of flyers and ballers came into our park and suddenly everything became glitchy again.
Got next was laggy, framerate was dropping, lag was slowly getting worse.

Now I'm just putting two and two together but it seems like these rivals days increase all that and I could care less about the rivals in general..I just wanna play basketball.

And I think most people that just wanna "play basketball" would rather have matchmaking. My friends don't care that I unlocked a new walk animation, they do care if I win a game with good play tho. Let me matchmake and just keep chuggin out games instead of sitting in a park with too many players the server can even handle.
