    Steal Button Online Exploit

I just threw my Dual Shock 4 out of the window while playing NBA Live 15 online against a friend. Of course I regret it now but it was out of pure frustration.

The guy would spam the steal button full-court, I couldn't even bring the playbook menu on the screen...and I would have the ball stolen every single f*****g time!!! I told him to stop it but he kept mocking me and doing it every single time. Flat out RIDICULOUS!!!

I'm a hardcore NBA fan who's been playing NBA games since the days of Lakers x Celtics on the PC (yes, the one with Kareem) and that (former) friend doesn't even like/understands basketball that much and was beating me handily employing this absolutely cheap tactic.

Please EA, please some dev here around these forums, fix this damn b******t!!! One can't keep pressing the steal button like it's NBA Jam and get away with it without being penalized. No fouls, only steals and breakaway layups and dunks during the whole game. The guy had 7 steals with Patrick Beverley in the 1st quarter alone.

If my copy wasn't a digital one I swear to god I would've thrown away the disc through the window as well. Absolutely disgusted right now.

I love this franchise but I'm not touching this game again until they release another patch.

Dude I feel you!!!!!! I hate that when a no talent hack does that and just goes the other way for a dunk. It doesnt happen in real life so get rid of it here.. Holla back if you want a real sim game..

You've got to be kidding. I've played almost 30 games online. The only time people can steak the ball is when you dribble it right in front of their face. If you guard the ball by keeping the ball in the hand that is away from the defender, the ball 90 percent of the time they either run past you or get a reach in foul. If they put enough pressure on you and force you to make the ball stealable than that's you're fault

Eh, stealing is too easy. I can't even set up to run plays on a lot of guys because of the fear if I dribble in place for a second I'll get ripped.

That's what I'm saying. That's what 2k does. It makes a forcefield. Not is user defense similar to sliding around on ice, but steals are all random and it's luck of the draw to get through the forcefield

Stealing is definitely to easy, especially with players like Rondo, Smart, CP3 etc I can run around and rip people all day.

                  Steal Button Online Exploit

If a ball handler has at least high school level dribbling ability you're not going to be able to steal from him on command like you can in Live 15 as of now. It takes no skill whatsoever to rack up 15+ steals a game...

Protect the ball, don't be careless just like in real life you can't have the ball vulnerable to the defender. That's basketball. Live did it right this year.

If you're dribbling with the ball in front of you with Kyrie Irving, Rondo or Kobe Bryant right in your face, you're going to get the ball stolen. A cheap way out is to call fouls on them every time, but that's not realistic. LIke the guy above said, turn your back on them, back down button. Anyone remember the 96 pacers? Mark Jackson literally turned his back around the minute he crossed the halfway court and called his plays. If you're going to stand there, don't, keep moving, move the ball around, and you'll cut down on steals.

                        Re: Steal Button Online Exploit

EA should add voice commands for playcalling as well. Not to mention, teams don't always call sets each time down the floor, but a range of plays for the next set(3 or more?) of possessions, or a variation/audible of those plays. EA can go deeper with their system and make the game flow a bit nicer.

They should put more ball-protecting dribbling animations that can trigger while bringing the ball up while not using the sprint button. Disable them when sprint is being held down for some simple risk-reward action.

Last year, the steal button took you out of position everytime as it was a pretty much a lunging steal. This year, it's mostly stationary, so it's easy to find the spot you need to be to get steals.

I think anything lower than Superstar and it's just rip city. I turned reaching fouls up to 65, but that won't make a difference in online games. So, one little foul slider made a huge difference in offline gameplay, as I disciplined myself not to get into early foul trouble with my point guard, and stopped constant breakaway buckets.

EA has been tuning the game since launch. I believe they can add some sliders in a patch.

Houston leads the league in steals with 10 a game..Indiana is bringing up the rear with 4..Now, how much you wanna bet that there are more "Play the passing lane" and "strips in the paint " steals then pick pocket steals?

An occasional feature on the 82games.com web site is the random stat -- today's edition looks at which players are the leaders in steals, both intercepted passes, and picks.

OK these are old stats (Most likely 2006-2007 season, cant find anything more recent) with older players..I.E. Gilbert Arenas, Brevin Knight, Smush Parker..With that said. Here were the top 5 Most "Dribble/Loose Ball" steals per 48minutes.....

                              1.91 Knight
                              1.57 Greene
                              1.37 Claxton
                              1.36 Paul
                              1.34 Baron Davis

Brevin Knight led with 1.91..basically 2 steals per 48 minutes of floor time... So why is that? Because it puts you out of position or you gather fouls with the quickness..
