I've tweeted EA a few times but haven't got a response from them. Our online CFM with 25 users is in the playoffs of Season One and I want to know if this if fixed. Seems like a league killer for guys with stud receivers...

Online CFM: 30 Year Old WRs Speed Dropping
I've head of two online CFMs now in which this has happened. When they advance to Season 2, every receiver over 30 years old has their speed drop into the 70s or lower. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, not just WRs. Happens to DBs too. In my solo online CFM, Brandon Carr's speed dropped 17 points in one offseason. Also saw that in my 3rd season, Anquan Boldin's speed was at a 59. Ridiculous.[NYK|DAL|VT]

I an understand them falling, but falling to 60's and 50'?!?!?!?!?!
See that WAY too often. Another HUGE mistake by EA. Never buying another Madden again.Comment

It happens with rbs too. My rb was the league mvp and league rushing leader with over 2,000 yds, and broke a couple of records, only to drop to 80 speed the next year. I had to cut Al Bundy, and now he's probably back to selling women's shoes.Comment

Reggie Bush dropped to an 85 speed after year 1. Regression and progression are both pretty flawed.Comment

Re: Online CFM: 30 Year Old WRs Speed Dropping
The problem isnt that it dropped, its that it takes dives of 10-15+ in one off-season! Ted Ginn being 79 speed next year? He could break a leg and still be faster than that. I would understand gradual decreases but I see in my leagues that 30 is pretty much the magic number for when players tank in speed. And I mean TANK.Last edited by Zeffy; 10-23-2014, 10:42 AM.Comment

Re: Online CFM: 30 Year Old WRs Speed Dropping
Again, FIFA does it right while Madden isn't even close. There is NO reason for any stat to drop more than 5 points in one offseason due to regression. No one loses ability like that between February and August.. I don't know how people play Madden's franchise to be honest. What does it do well or even accurately.Comment

Re: Online CFM: 30 Year Old WRs Speed Dropping
It isn't just a speed thing, check out the thp of Qbs over 30's.. I had matt flynn and he's 33 in my offline cfm and his thp went down to 75?
this sounds just like the regression issues MLB had the last couple yearsMLB The Show Hybrid Roster ContributorComment

WOW! I had no idea the issues ran this deep. Very discouraging. For all of the things that Madden did right this year, how did they get this so wrong?Comment

Re: Online CFM: 30 Year Old WRs Speed Dropping
I noticed this a lot with running backs. By rear two, MJD dropped to 80 speed, 82 accel and by year three is down to 72.
Odd thing is, speed, accel, and agility seem to be the only attributes that drop. I know some positions (like running back) tend to fall off a cliff but not that drastically and not just in speed-related categories.
Seems like the ratings guru wanted a way to model regression due to age and took the easy way out. Yeah guys will slow down, but MJD or Boldin are not gonna drop to offensive line speed and still play!Alumnus:
