MLB 15 The Show: What needs to change in order for you to purchase

I've been putting in a lot of time into MLB 14 The Show the last month or two and unfortunately I'm very disappointed with it. Not so much the gameplay, but a lot of other aspects part of the game.

I came to the conclusion that if some aspects didn't improve that I'll skip MLB 15 completely.

Will you buy regardless? Or what do you want improved in order for you to take the plunge and purchase MLB 15.

Things I need changed:

Framerate. This is major and probably the biggest dissapointment of MLB 14. It happens randomly to me in any stadium. Not sure what the cause is, but the 1000+ different spectators are overkill IMO, 500 would've look just as good and the individual grass blades uses more memory and processing power compared to the actual overall graphical improvement it brings to the game.

Sim stats. I gave up on my franchise and Rtts when I heard that once you get to 2020 stats are just waaaay off. What's the point then developing young prospects...and this basically breaks the option to continue franchise/rtts from one MLB 14 to 15 etc.

Graphics. The graphics is not bad at all, and at some stages it's beautiful. But it doesn't look like a next gen game at all. IMO it doesn't really look that much better than a PS3 version of the game.

Lighting. Go to the bullpen at Citi Field and you'll see what I mean.

Commentators. This has been discussed quite a bit, and I'm really tired with the same lines i.e. "That a major league pop up, as it's waaaaaay up there" blah blah

Rtts. This needs an overhaul, it can be so much more than just going from one game to the other and upgrading your stats. Have a look at NBA 2k's myplayer mode.

MLB 14 The Show is a good game, make no mistake. But it's been the same game for quite some time now with no major improvements.

Re: MLB 15 The Show: What needs to change in order for you to purchase

All of this isjust my opinion and nothing more so need need to argue like I'm saying 2+2=5 or something.

Maybe I just haven't experienced the framerate problem. I really do not notice the difference between 30fps and 60fps so maybe that's it? Or is it a big slowdown or buffering that I just haven't experienced for whatever reason?

Graphics are a big step up but maybe not to what we were expecting after the sales hype of next gen consoles. I've experienced this with other things as well.

Commentators--disclaimer, I turn them off. I don't like commentators. I'd rather watch a game and form my own opinion and I can go on a tirade about the quality of broadcasts nowadays making it hard to get into a game. But, I did turn them on and I was relatively impressed by the commentation. It was only one game and I didn't hear the same thing twice during that game. So, disclaimer, it was just one game. But, if you are playing a lot of games there has to be a reasonable expectation that you are going to hear the same things a lot.

As for sim stats, the game in real life goes through different periods and eras. It evolves from a dead ball era to a HR hitting haven and now towards power pitching rather than power hitting. It really doesn't bother me if the game does something like that as well. But, if you read that thread, it seems to be different for everyone. Or if you are reading the wrong thread, you didn't notice that it was showing BBs in the Ks column or something like that.

Now, call me a SCEA defender or blind or whatever, I just haven't experienced the same things that others have.

More doubles would be cool. I always seem to only hit singles and HRs. Forever in the show I'll have a player with 30 HR and 50 RBI bc I never ever ever seem to hit RBI doubles or anything. Almost always a HR, whether solo, 2 run 3 run or GS. Singles to get on base then HRs to drive them in. Not realistic
Also, I tend to have to put hitting on the mode after beginner, but pitching and defense in the hardest mode just to get a good game. Would be nice if there was more balance there to get 1-0 and 2-1 type games along w the occasional 11-10 type game.
I love the show but it needs work imo.
And Vasgersian either needs to go or get some fresh commentary.

Yeah, this is the one game I play that I can't imagine having an ultimatum list for. It has the highest replay value for me of any sports game I've ever played outside of maybe APF 2K8.

I'm fine with the graphics and lighting as they are currently, so I'll buy even if that area never progresses beyond where it is now.

I'd like better commentary but don't think we'll ever really get the kind of dynamic stuff 2K produced in their baseball and football games--mostly because of the business model of hiring real broadcasters who are more expensive than the JAGs 2K got.

To me, the big area MLBTS needs to improve is advanced stat tracking. I want to be able to see season and career stats for MILB and MLB players so I can judge based on those rather than OVR ratings.

And I'd like the option to hide more of the ratings so I could base my judgments on performance, more like real life.

The fact that the game will allow me to carry over my save file from '14 to '15 guarantees that I will be buying next year.

Since I am new in MLBTS, I dont have any problems about the other stuffs you mentioned, but if they will improved on it...much the better.

In RTTS, yes because this is the only mode I play and very addicting. But I agree that there should be more than just playing the game and upgrading the stats. Make sense about the money players earn. BUT NOT THE DRAMAs in NBA 2k14. Sure, a little of it...but not too much. Or goals that my player should achieve or else I will be sent back to minors etc., although this could happen.

I dont know how SCEA will implement this, that the saved RTTS and Franchise in 14 could be carried over to 15. FANTASTIC Idea but I dont know how it will relate. Surprise me SCEA (i mean for the better suprise and not a disappointing one). I am planning to buy 15 because it looks like im skipping NHL 15.

Day 1 purchase next year for me, no doubt.

I hope they fix the subsequent season scheduling and stats issues. I'd like the option to choose whether I play a day or night game in franchise/season mode. And I expect we'll get a nice graphical upgrade (though the game looks good now as is).

But I'm very happy with MLB 14. I have no doubt MLB 15 will be great as well.
