Now, I know we have a wishlist thread, but that's not what this is devs, so please don't close this thread.

I want to love 2K basketball again, I really do. But after this years Next Gen debacle, I refuse to buy another 2K basketball until they can get back to their roots and focus on making a completely sim game.

So here's what I want. All the hardcore gameplay guys, the Association guys, the MyCareer guys, hell, even the online guys need to unite in this thread.

LD2K is willing to accept Google Doc files with our fixes in them. So what I'm proposing is we come together as a unit and really put our best foot forward to try and get one huge Google Doc together to send over to the 2K team.

PLEASE guys, let's keep this civil and somewhat organized. Don't let it get out of hand and get this thread closed. Please no NBA Live talk. Comparisons are okay if you feel it could help NBA 2K in some aspect, but please no blatant back and forth about the two games.

So, when posting an idea or fix, keep it organized. Start off by saying what you're talking about, what's wrong, and how you would fix it. No topic within the game is off limits. Let's show how dedicated we really can be.

Ok this is just a quick write up but I think 2K needs to seriously consider overhauling the Signature Skill system.

I think alot of those skills that boosts ratings for players that already have high ratings in those specific areas need to be removed.

For example:

Finisher- Please just remove this. I don't see the purpose for players with already high dunk and layup ratings to get a skill that boosts their ability to make layups even further.

Pick Pocket- Same concept. Players like Patrick Beverly and Chris Paul who already have high steal ratings don't need to have their steal ratings boosted even further. Anyone that's ever played the Rockets or Clippers on Online Ranked games can attest to the abuse of the X/Square button when being guarded by Paul/Beverly.

Tenacious Rebounder- The rebounding in general is really broken in this game but why give players like Chandler/Love who already have high rebound ratings an even bigger advantage on the boards. Multiple times when playing the Bulls I've been at the mercy of Joakim Noah because he kills me on the offensive glass. You might say well he is a good rebounder but not when he's literally snatching rebounds out of my hands while not even being in position to grab them in the first place.

And yes I've been at the opposite end of the spectrum sitting back and laughing as the CPU Chandler snatched offensive rebounds right out my opponents hand. But like I said earlier rebounding in general needs to be fixed.

Sprite Posterizer- Just a pointless skill and just adds more cheese to a perfectly grilled Grilled Cheese Sandwich. A funny thing is I noticed that LeBron doesn't have this skill yet he still dunk over your entire team in traffic. I can just wonder what happened if he had it on...

Dimer- I don't think it should increase your shot percentage. A pass from Chris Paul doesn't magically make your shot have a higher percentage of going in. This combined with Floor General is just insanity.

Flashy Passer- Flashy Passing just needs to be taken out and be based off of tendencies again.

One Man Fastbreak/LeBron Coast to Coast- Again another redundant skill because players like LeBron already have high speed ratings and are already hard to stop when they're turboing down the court on fastbreaks so why even give this to him?

This is just the tip of the iceberg lol. I have more to write up but I'll come back later on to type up some more. I hope 2K gets this.

A couple of simple ones...

Quick Plays: We need the old option back where you could select the player for each quick play. So anyone can be told to post, come off screen, get open, etc.

Deffensive Settings: Bring the old system back where you could set strategies for each player via coaching settings. The POE was not specific enough.

Passing: Passes need to be much crisper. Actually, pass velocity/arc should be controlled by tapping/holding the pass button similar to throwing passes in Madden. As is, passes are too slow and allow defenses to recover too easily.

Defense First !

-On-Ball defense should be improved no more sliding guarding ball handlers please.
-blocks make vertical ratings matter when going for blocks because right now it doesn't .
-defending alleys. Alleys should be so easy an automatic as they are. Let's see more box outs and tips from alleys.
-rebounding- should be more based on position. Right now it seems random.
- steals. Make it about timing and really hitting the ball. Sometimes there's a force field protecting it. Even when a steal happens remove the dumbfounded animation by the offensive player losing the ball.

-Speed. They should do what Kaanyr Vhok did and make all the speeds based off 3/4 speeds from the combine. It seemed to me like that helped out with big men rotations on defense, and they don't lose stamina as quickly

-Vertical should be done with combine numbers too( unless there are workout measurements that are real). It should help big men get rebounds more since there verticals won't be in the 30's. It could help blocks to.

-Contact animations in the paint need to be fixed. It seems like they don't can't find a way to do them without it being a two player animation. Idk if I would like that all the time, so if you have another way use that

The rebounding animations for players of 7 feet is completely messed up. In previous games no matter the height we all had the same rebounding animation but in 2k14 next gen chris paul does lebron james rebounding animations while shaq and david robinson struggle to grab boards because their animations are horrible. They jump to where they think the ball is going to go instead of where the ball actually is

You guys do realize that they are probably nearly done with 15 at this point, and it likely waaaaaaaaay too late for them to act on any of the changes in here, even if they see an idea they like.

True but they better be looking to fix some of these problems instead of just adding new features. Cause they actually have some competition this year. And i usually automatically buy 2k but 2k14 really has deterred me from an automatic purchase this year for the first time

One thing that I cant stand, is when my opponent has the ball, and say I hit the steal button twice, but after the first steal it gets knocked loose, or he misses he shot, and I get the rebound, whenever one of my players get the rebound, he SHOOTS THE BALL. PLEASE 2k, if I press steal, allow me to try and steal the ball, if for whatever reason I pressed steal to quick, don't give me the reaction to my button 5 seconds later when I get the ball. I don't want to shoot from the other side of the court, I was trying to steal the damn ball!

I'll speak up for the MyCareer players here.

-First of all, sticking with story and cutscenes is fine, but it shouldn't be a linear, scripted, cheesy B-movie storyline. I don't want made up rivals and restrictions on my minutes that have nothing to do with my on-court performance. I don't want social media challenges that force me to be a ballhog. I don't ever want a one-on-one dunk tutorial session by LeBron at halfcourt before a game. If I want to be a role player, or middling starter, or instant phenom, the game should accommodate all playstyles. Basically, the cutscenes and overall flow of the story should be grounded in realism, and based on how well I actually play, not how 2K thinks I should play.

-On that note, bring back the draft combine, summer league and the D-League! If some players don't wanna play it give them an option to sim. But this was one of the best and most realistic aspects of MyCareer for me, actually fighting for my roster spot, and if I wanna play like that I should be able to.

-Please fix up the dynamic goals. No coach in his right mind would tell a player to score 10 straight without passing! These and the social media goals seem to encourage a selfish ball hogging style of play, which is really undesirable to me.

-Finally, some of the VC prices are seriously out of whack. Do I honestly have to pay a significant portion of my salary for a freakin headband, then pay it again just to change the color? That's just a money grab. Basic accessories and stuff should be free, only charge for things that increase my attributes or that.

Think that covers most of it.

I dont know where to begin.

- POE System. while its a nice Idea i rather play with the old system (where i can have players screen/Hedge/ play tight or sag off individually) can we play get that back? i dont see why it was even removed to begin with. the POE system seems to act flawed and leave guys open even when it shouldnt.

- Momentum system. im sorry but this is some of the biggest BS ever. NBA players act like they NEVER PLAYED played ball in their lives when the momentum is against them? the hell is that?

- Blocking system. it seems like most of the time the team who just got the block react slower than the guy who just got swatted? wtf?

- Steals, way too easy it seems. should be timed or take skill,

- Kick ball violations, Way to common. Many great Defensive stops gets ruined by this.

- As mentioned, Sig Skills Need a MAJOR revamp. some players become God with these
Good Shooters DONT NEED MORE HELP shooting the ball.
Good layup-ers dont need more help doing a layup around 3 people

and as someone who uses pick pocket/Active hands in My career. Get rid of these. it makes steals way too easy.

- Rebounding is random as **** . i got a game saving offensive Rebound with MCW last night over Hakeem/Antony davis. and they both were in better positions than me. What?

- Fix the CPU Defense. in 2k13 the CPU played smart but fair Defense. in 2k14 (next gen) the CPU just hordes you and gives you no brething room at all, even on poor shooters. and they were they get their stops are extremely rage inducing.

There needs to be a clear separation of MyPlayer and Association. We don't need the redundancy of 2 MyRPG modes.

Allow the user to choose between MyPlayer or MyGM and develop that side of the game independently from a 30 team control Association mode.

I know VC and all its revenue has caused 2K to shift motives here but if they don't get back to an Association mode with deep administrative control, extensive editing and user options (ala The Show) they're going to lose their fan base.

MyGM is a novel concept but that linear way of playing shouldn't replace a user controlled Association.

This happens to me when I'm trying to grab what appears to me to be a loose ball off a rebound, but it's actually a locked animation. So the system doesn't take the button push as a loose ball recovery attempt, it thinks it's a shot attempt. So if my player does get the ball coming out of the long animation, it's a full court Hail Mary.

-No more ball/hands going through bodies. It's been around for far too long
-bring back tactical menus (double team this player, sag off that player,etc.)
-bring back crew
-bring back create a player
Long shot: player introductions
MyCareer
-ability to pick jerseys (no excuses this year)
-ability to set home/away accessories
-ability to change jersey number
-tattoos that don't look like stickers
-chill on the VC: I shouldn't have to pay for basic accessories and different colors. Only pay for accessories that boost attributes.
-No more attribute caps
-More career past his: be able to choose to be a prodigy, a role player, an unknown, etc. Base stories around selected path. Also, the story should be based on my play and decisions, not pre determined bs.
-bring back d-league: if you play like cr you get sent down
-better summers: workout with friends/teammates
-Olympic/international play
-better free agency: have teams make a pitch to you/friends try to recruit you or you try to recruit them.
-replace rookie showcase with draft combine: workouts and scrimmages to boost attributes
-pre draft workouts
-More sponsors
-better trade logic
-better draft logic: I shouldn't be forced into the same conference as my rival. Also I should be able to go in the second round or undraffted if I played bad enough.
-more realistic rival: if Ellis is averaging 5 points and can't even get off the bench he shouldn't be competing with me for sponsorships. He shouldn't even be talking to me. If I kill him in the showcase (or draft combine) he shouldn't be smiling talking about his imaginary "body of work".
