    1984 Season completed!!!

Just finished my 1984 season!!! All players rated. 25 man rosters with 3 additional players in the minors. Just simmed a season to see how they played out. Pretty accurate if I do say so myself. Tony Armas led the league in HR's in 1984 with 43. In my sim he led league with 46!! Rickey Henderson and Brett Butler tied for Stolen bases, and the Tigers won the pennant over the Cubs!!! I used TNK 2014 V1.0 sliders from the vault. Hope you enjoy, please give feedback and let me know what can be improved or what you liked about them. BTW, Armor.....you Royals finished second to Detroit in the Central by 1 game!!! LOL!

Rosters are great. Thanks! Does anyone know the secret to 'tricking' the game to get the numbers correct? I see you got Eddie Murray's #33 with correct name but not Ripken's #8. I could always get Cal's but never Eddie.

great roster from what i saw. played a few innings of cubs (eckersley) vs. phillies (carlton) at wrigley and man, what a sight that was! can't wait to play more after work, very impressed, JohnE.

                      Re: 1984 Season completed!!!

As always John a real treat! Great job once again!!!

So…….opening series for the Royals was a three game stint in Detroit. Game one I take a 3-0 lead into the 9th. Bud Black pitching a gem. However he is clearly gassed and gives up a solo HR to open the 9th to Lance Parrish. I wanted to see if he can nail down an opening day CG Shutout. Well…..Queisenberry was warm and ready to go. I bring him in. He walks his first batter, single to the next.

Then a 3 run walk off HR. SMH.

Game two Dan Petry is dominating me. He has a no hitter going into the 9th (one walk in the 7th broke up the perfect game) I break it up with 2 outs with a Pat Sheridan single. Royal go on to lose game two 3-0.

Game Three Mark Gubiza has an up and down start but guts out 6 innings giving up 3 runs. George Brett though breaks out with a 2 HR game and 4 RBI's. Steve Balboni also joins the fray with a grand slam. Royals take the get out game 9-4.

Thanks to QC I wa able to play that 3 game series in just under 2.5 hours. Yeah….multiple classic season replays will be the theme for the rest of the year!

Once again thank you John for the fun!!!!

                        Re: 1984 Season completed!!!

Having played a few games, all I can say is fantastic stuff!!

Inspired by Armor, my last game was Tigers @ Royals and it was a real ding-dong affair.

Managed to score a couple of runs early on and Bud Black was going great guns until he began to tire. I pulled him in the 7th after giving up 5 hits and a run on 94 pitches. The bullpen then gave up a couple of hits in the 9th and so tied at 2-2 we went to exta innings.

Johnny Grubb led off for the Tigers with a solo HR in the 10th that hit the inside of the foul pole, with me praying that it was going into the seats!! Quisenberry nearly gave up another when I thought I would be clever and try to throw a knuckleball for a strike... phew!!

With one out in the 10th, a single by McRae and a double by Slaught meant I had men on 2nd and 3rd. Hernandez walks Wilson to load the bases for the possible double play. I bring in U.L. Washington to pinch hit for Concepcion and with a meatball over the plate, he only goes and hits a walk off grand salami!!

Thanks for all the time and effort that you put into making this roster, it is REALLY appreciated!!

I tried out the mets briefly. Dwight Gooden wore number 16. Darryl strawberry's stance should be one where he is moving the bat back n forth before the pitch comes to the plate.

I am aware of Doc's #. I have tried to change it (as well as others, Cal Ripken should be 8 not 9....George Brett should be 5 not 6...etc.). Even though I make the changes, they do not stay for some reason. So I figured, no big deal. As far as Darryl's stance, I saw one that moved but it seemed to wiggle TOO much so I left as is. Once you download I don't care what you change for your own personal use so....edit away. All I ask is not to repost in vault and take credit for my hard work. I have put tons of time into these for all to enjoy. They ARE NOT perfect. But I did the best I could.

                              Hi guys,

It took me forever to figure out the number glitch and I wanted to share it with you because you obviously poured a lot of time into these rosters and they deserve to be perfect. You need to drop that player to the triple A team, change his number there(it should show up after that correctly. if it does not check to see if another triple A player has it), then send him back to the majors and as long as no one else has that number, it will stick. Also DO NOT EDIT after you fix the number or it will change again. It's worked every time for me so far. It was driving me crazy.
