Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
In my opinion, there's no reason to entertain any NFL 2K comeback speculation until we see something from 2K and Visual Concepts themselves, either directly or indirectly via a reputable media outlet (Polygon, Kotaku, Game Informer, one of the OS News Staff, etc.).
Until then, any speculation is just blind hope and people exploiting that blind hope for a few more YouTube channel subscribers. -

Its sad but more than likely completely untrue.
Wish he was right, but he's probably not. I don't think you can keep the NFL license a secret for that long.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I know, everytime I play APF I wonder why they didn't just do something resembling a franchise, even if half baked. Imagine you pick your 11 guys have a squad of generics that would take on the mental skills of the legends at their position as they retired. Build a foundation for your franchise just as they did in reality. Just my idea of something they should have tried.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
Don't even get me started on what 2K football could offer in the next-gen department. And to be honest, I really just want more of the same. You know, charging by holding onto the button that you sprint with by tapping, same kind of camera movement and playbook format, Dan Stevens and Peter O'Keefe, The Crib, etc. It would obviously benefit from better visuals though, and I would seriously love for them to adopt the Euphoria engine and use it properly.
Until then, my hopes are pretty dashed. If it were to happen properly though, you know I'd be buying a PS4 immediately. One thing is you'd hope some of those developers from their hockey, baseball, and college basketball games are still around and they are a part of some other development team for football. That's probably not how things work though, sadly.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

It would be nice if 2k make another football game.. They don't have worried about exclusive licenses either. On the other hand, 2k should definitely reconsider about bring back APF series with franchise mode and more players from 2000's, 1990's 80's and 1970's.. Heck, how about adding new offensive formations such as pistol, wildcat, blocking schemes and zone-blitzing and adding real coaches in the game as well.. IComment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I believe the Legends angle could work if 2k get the rights of United Football League, United States Football League, WLAF and XFL.. Those could easily get likeness of Herschel Walker, Paul Warfield, Jim Kelly, Sam Mills, Doug Williams, Doug Flutie, Danute Culpepper, David Boston and others without no problem whatsoever. Another thing 2k could add the coaches of those leagues in the game as well!!Comment

Also, while most of the guys you mentioned aren't in Madden (afaik), Herschel Walker and Doug Flutie were signed by EA for NCAA, and although NCAA Football is no more, I'd bet the deals with Walker and Flutie extended beyond the 2013-2014 season.
2K is highly unlikely to get themselves entangled in another massive individual player licensing matter like they did with APF. The costs are too high plus the high probability of a low return, and that's one of the main reasons we haven't seen another edition of APF.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
what separates all video games from eachother these days?
online play a customization, with stellar singleplayer/story being unappreciated.
if 2k comes back, they don't need legends or real leagues. they need to market the online play, customizable features, unlockables so guys can compare the sizes of their E-Peen, and tight franchise mode.
TBH, idk why they think this is so hard. program rookies to be randomly and logically generated, use an improved version of 2k5's player progression, allow custom stadiums and uniform upgrades between seasons, customizable players and coaches. especially considering half the work would be done if they just start from 2k5's franchise mode.
but they're too busy making ****ty hockey and don king games to try it.Comment
