How do you stay in front of your man on D?

I couldn't do this on Xbox 360 and now I'm having even more trouble on Xbox One. Seriously, how do you stay in front of a guy. The opposing offense scores most of their baskets at the rim, or at least makes a deep foray into the paint, off of dribble drives. Can someone suggest something to help me?

Is there still a defense assist setting?

Hold both triggers and always step back first, before moving right or left.

keep some space in front of your defender, if you stay on him too tight he'll just blow by you easily.

I like to the think as defensive assist as "auto strafe".... the higher it is, the less you have to hold LT....

I like to put defensive assist at 0, other than that it's just a mixture of reaction and anticipation.

But if the cpu wants to make a layup it'll make a layup, regardless of who's in it's path. Case in point --> http://youtu.be/SIrtZSmtTIA I'm the wizards btw.

This has happened countless times against me, usually over multiple defenders. I've tried steal, block, right stick defense and holding L2. Nothing works, the only option is going with a cowardly zone or abusing wimpy off ball defense which i refuse to do.

Do you REALLY want that shot to miss 100% of the time? Its really not that crazy of a shot. Beverley, a great finisher, made a layup in traffic. Really not a shocker.
