Played baseball for the first time

wow, i played baseball for the first time last week and it's an amazing sport!!! I always thought of baseball as a boring sport, full of out of shape men. But after playing it for the first time i was amazed at how fun it could be. My friend brought me to his practice and the coach saw my build and asked if i wanted to try-out. So i did and i'm starting at LF and can bat both ways!!!!! Just wanted to show appreciation for this sport

I love reading "first"s of things that interest me. This one in particular is truly special to read about.

Good for you! How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? Awesome that you can jump in and switch-hit just like that, since it took me a good few years to comfortably hit left-handed. Of course, it might be like anybody who's never learned a language before to learn multiple languages, etc. Very cool.

Enjoy it! It's the greatest sport of all time.

I'm 18 and i was nervous at the bat because it's nothing like staring down a baseball coming 70mph at you. I can use both hands in every sport i play equally but i have much more power when batting left., but i get way more contact batting right. i play my first game Monday!

Very impressive that you are able to switch hit from the start.

That being said, at your age you will likely be facing a majority of right handers and if you are better from the right side than from the left it might not be a bad idea to consider hitting strictly right handed for awhile in games and work on improving from the left side in BP.

Happy to hear you enjoy it, we need to see this revolution from more guys your age.

we had practice this morning, and i had to play SS in practice, i love that spot and all the responsibility that comes with it i threw 6 players out from it!!! "OAN: i guess those years of playing QB helped me out cause i can throw the baseball decent, my throwing motion is still like a QB's though and makes my arm sore as hell! " And another problem i'm having is fielding sometimes, it feels unnatural catching with my left hand.

That's awesome! I'm impressed that you can switch hit. I've tried for an embarrassing amount of years (to no avail). It's a fun sport to play, and even more so to follow (unless you happen to be a Cubs fan, like myself).
