My Proud year 3 Be A GM lineup

I wanted to post this because I feel like I set up a really good team. What I have done is I played each and every game of my first season and then I simulated the second season. I lost in the first round in the first season and then in the second season my team got to the conference finals but lost in game 6. As I begin my 3rd season this is how my lineup looks with my Buffalo Sabres:

1st line Thomas Vanek/Patrice Bergeron/Milan Lucic

2nd line Tyler Ennis/ Cody Hodgson/ Ryan Callahan

3rd line Marcus Foligno/ Sean Couturier/ Beau Bennett

4th line Brandon Prust/ Maxime Talbot/ Fredrick Gauthier (drafted player)

defense 1 Tyler Myers/ Christian Ehroff

defense 2 Ryan Pulock (drafted player)/ Brendan Smith

defense 3 Andrej Sekera/ Brayden McNabb

Goalies Ryan Miller/ Jhonas Enroth

Here is how I got some of these players:

Patrice Bergeron was traded to Philly at the deadline of year 2 so I then went after him and traded away Mikhail Grigorenko/a prospect and a 2nd round pick.

In the offseason I got Milan Lucic in a trade. I had Simon Gagne on my team from my first seasons trade deadline so in my recent offseason I traded Gagne/Kaleta/1st and 2nd round pick for Lucic.

I simply signed Callahan in free agency.

In my first season I traded Nathan Gerbe and Mike Weber for Couturier.

Also in my 1st year I traded Kevin Porter and a 3rd round pick for Beau Bennett.

Jochen Hecht and Nick Crawford for Maxime Talbot.

In 3 seasons Ive made 9 trades and Ive had 2 solid drafts.

Sounds like one of those GM Modes where everything goes your way. If I'm lucky I might have 1 in 20 GM Mode playthroughs. Most of the time I'm struggling with dodgy simulation, no trade offers whatsoever and slow progress of my prospects. Good luck and have fun with your playthrough!

Looks AWESOME.. Even though the Bruins would NEVER EVER trade Bergy. Lucic maybe but thats why its a game.

as a die hard Sabres fan this is hard for me to say but i like nearly every player on the Bruins. some of these trades i made i couldnt belive they were accepted but im happy they were. i also do wish the prospects would progress faster but i put them in my lineup anyways and do pay attention to their overall rating. for example I have Darnell Nurse in my lineup and hes a 59 overall and my other first round pick in whos only a 61. it makes the game so much more fun playing with your own drafted players.

Honestly it doesn't seem that special to me... but okay.

I agree. Nothing special at all. I've had teams that had much better players.

I like that it's at least realistic. Right now my first line forwards in year 3 are C. Giroux (90 ovr) / R. Nugent-Hopkins (90 ovr) / Phil Kessel (88 ovr) and my D is C. Fowler (89 ovr) / K. Yandle (86? ovr) and it's barely even fun. You really can exploit the CPU quite easily, only players I've tried to trade for and couldn't were Ovie, and Grabner.
