Whats with the abundance of ****ty umpire calls

I have been playing a pitcher for around 10 games now and it is crazy how bad the umpires are in the game. I usually have 1 bad call per batter, sometimes more. I mean theres no more pitching at corners or at the edge of the strike zone anymore, if you are not noticeably in the strike zone you have like a 50% chance of it being a ball if not more. Its freaking ********.

I don't use variable umpire calls, I turned it off and it says they call it perfect.

I haven't had that much of a problem yet. I like the variable umpire because it is very human like. I sure hope its not a really big issue

Same here I keep all those things off and I find this year they even improved iffy borderline calls as most seem at least reasonable .

I notice alot more corner strikes not being called this year. I actually think it should be a bit opposite then what game has it now. They rarely call a pitch just outside the zone a strike and miss alot of pitches in the zone. I think that they should miss alot more of pitches out of the zone like in real life and rarely miss the pitches in the zone

I haven't really encountered any issues with my RTTS pitcher. I leave variable umps on as I think it adds a real feel to the game. Sometimes you are just going to get squeezed.

                More like Angel Hernandez-like.

Every single time I've started a game I have never gotten a strike call on any edge of the zone if I wanted to nibble.

I have no issue with the variable strike zone. I have seen calls go both ways, balls that should be strikes and vice versa. I agree that the calls seem a bit better this year. Haven't seen any calls where the full ball in in the zone or out of the zone being called wrong and this happened alot last year. It seems to be mostly just the borderline pitches that are at least touching the edges of the zone.

Haven't been able to play too much yet this year so I haven't really yet heard one way or the other, but Matt Vasgersian makes way too much out of pitches that come four inches off the plate, saying the pitcher misses by a wide margin. It's kind of annoying.

The problem with this is that you are only playing a pitcher. If you play as a whole team I find the bad calls tend to even out both ways throughout a game. I actually think it's incredibly realistic.

I dont see that as a problem. The announcers are calling the game from a booth waaaaaaaaaaay aways from home plate. They dont have a good view of the pitches anyway.
