Okay O.S. brethren ....it's time to get together again and put together the community to build the 2013 version of the Operation Sports Full Minors for MLB The Show.

Everyone is invited to participate and all help is welcome.

For now we're just going to concentrate setting up who is doing what.

It's that time of year again

I'll be doing Mariners faces, and if its okay with everyone else I was thinking that Panda, Aroid, and myself can split the top 100 prospects this year, plus some extras. I ended up doing about 50 non-Mariner CAPs last year (about 30 are top prospects this year), so I plan on copying over those heads to '13 via video... Pretty lame huh?

Also, in an effort to keep pitch repertoires realistic, I have f/x data for approximately 300 minor leaguers that I'm updating and that anyone can use, but I'll post more on that later.

You can put me down for Faces only Knight. I'll be doing all the faces for the Braves' Minor Leaguers. I did the faces for every 1st rounder in the draft last year so I'm just going to copy the formulas over via video like seanjeezy ha. Seanjeezy and I talked about doing the faces for the top 100 so I'll be doing that as well.

That's good...
The more "face" guys the better.
It's really what takes the longest and what we are usually waiting on(the guys do a great job every year.....it's just very labor intensive work and there are a lot of teams that the editor doesn't handle)

seanjeezy....please relay as much pitch repertoire info as possible to anyone involved in editing or if you want to post it in the actual OFSM 2013 thread(for the editors) that would be great.

Only lengths are "editable" this year....with the new budget system.
For lengths.....the FA3 trick will work....but for $$$ it is generated now according to the ratings of the player as you begin a franchise.
There is a way around it now though it will require much more work on the USER end.
If you want a player with a high $$$ contract you must up his ratings(99's) and leave them there to start your franchise. After you begin the franchise it generates the $$'s for the contracts. After that you can edit them back down to what they should be with the new contract length and $$$

Sounds like a tricky system this year. What I don't understand is if they revamped the whole budget system - why not make it with the correct IRL salaries? Or at least making it as easy to edit as editing a players position or something? Either way, we'll see how everything shapes up then upon the release and the whole editing part starts. Contracts are just an extra twist to a roster set that needs much love on other aspects at first. It's a fun extra we can tweak later on if everything else works out nicely

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a similar system for budget like this in MLB 08? It wasn't based on real life salaries, but more of player value. Although I think that was more randomized.
